During her tenure as secretary of state for the Obama administration, Hillary Clinton used a private email account on a private server in her possession instead of using a government-provided account on a secure government server.
In the aftermath of this revelation, Hillary deleted thousands of emails from her private server instead of turning them over to the State Department, despite ongoing congressional inquiries and Freedom of Information Act requests for the documents.
Chairman of the House Select Committee on Benghazi Trey Gowdy has been at the forefront of the efforts to obtain Hillarys emails as he continues his quest to uncover everything that happened before, during and after the tragic 2012 terror attack on the diplomatic compound in Benghazi, Libya.
Although Hillary has somehow avoided answering any of the many questions Gowdys committee has for her, her attorney astonishingly claimed in a letter to the committee that all of its questions had already been answered.

Oh. A noisy monkey. Thanks for playing!
And screw you for slobbering, GOPhEr.
Nope. And knowing that means I have no patience for these grandstanding jackasses.
Most Congressional committees give written questions to witnesses ahead of time and receive written answers before the theater of live hearings.
In any case, Gowdy’s committee has five Democrats (I think) who are entitled to see all of the committee’s documents, so no one was going to be surprised anyway.
Despite some insistence that this is some kind of prosecution, it is not. The end product will be a political report to other Congressmen.
Give the organ grinder your best sad monkey look and maybe he’ll give you a banana.
She ought to be in leg irons.
Ain't that the TRUTH.
"The dogs bark, but the caravan moves on."
To politely answer your question... you do this when it's actually a "one party" system operating in DC performing Kabuki theater for the American public.
Kabuki Theater - Japenese version of "song & dance."
Hi IP, my understanding is that the question was asked by a shareholder (also a journalist) of Immelt at the most recent Annual Shareholder meeting. It was during an open question period. It made me start thinking that Representative Gowdy could/should pursue the emails from all domestic contributors to the Clinton group. If I were prosecuting, I would want the emails from others before questioning Hillary. Your thoughts?
In reading his proposed questions I believe that Hillary will never voluntarily agree to testify. When she does (under subpoena) she would be smart to take the 5th. She’s had her chance, and will not be able to bend the truth to conform to her desire. The dragnet is slowly closing around her.
Gwjack
I agree that there is no way Hillary can actually answer the Gowdy questions without risking at least potential jail-time. (Of course, being a civilized society, we don’t actually jail Clintons so actual jail-time is problematic.)
But, Even given that, the risks from Hillary’s POV will still look very high. My guess is she will decline to testify and make the bet that Gowdy will not subpoena her. If he does then I expect her to fight it. We should have some serious popcorn time on hands over the next few months.
And yes, I agree that Gowdy should go after all the emails from the secondary sources like GE.
Benghazi ping.
Let Republicanprofessor know if you want on or off this ping list.
Bill Clinton had plenty of help from George H. W. Bush as well.
Immelt IMO was telegraphing he wanted immunity for the information in his possession
“Then again, he did throw his full support to keeping John Boehner as House Speaker.”
You make it sound like he was actually working to make Boehner speaker. The truth is, he wasn’t there for the vote. Bad weather kept him from getting there to vote. He said he would have voted for Boehner but he certainly wasn’t working to get him elected.
“Trey Gowdy is a media whore who did NOT even have the balls to show up the day they had the vote on electing the Speaker of The House. He stayed home; the cowardly, little twerp.”
You are wrong. A blizzard of winter weather kept him from being able to fly there in time for the vote.
If only Hillary hadn’t erased her server she could prove that she is innocent
Yes, they are dumping on Gowdy because the investigation isn't going according to their timeline of wanting answers immediately. Gowdy was a successful prosecutor and he's building the case against Hillary so it will stick.
We wouldn't have known about Hillary's hidden email server without Gowdy - he is the one that found that out.
The complainers on here are ill informed about this case, so they pop off like they know better than Gowdy does.
If only Hillary hadnt erased her server she could prove that she is innocent
Winner!
Out of 435 Congress critters, he was the only one who couldn’t get a flight out.......... hmmmmmmmm!
