Loretta Lynch, after being kept waiting in the wings by the Senate for five and a half months, was confirmed Thursday as the first African American woman to serve as Attorney General.
Lynch was approved 56-43, one of the narrowest margins in history for an attorney general nominee.
The vote ended an unusually partisan episode in modern Senate confirmation history, in which a largely uncontroversial nominee to one of the top cabinet posts was kept out of office for a lengthy period over issues extraneous to her job.

"The Senate voted 5643 in favor of Lynch, approving her with help of Sens. Kelly Ayotte (N.H.), Thad Cochran (Miss.), Susan Collins (Maine), Jeff Flake (Ariz.), Lindsey Graham (S.C.), Orrin Hatch (Utah), Ron Johnson (Wis.), Mark Kirk (Ill.), Rob Portman (R-Ohio) and Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.)."
Ron Johnson (R, WI) VOTED TO CONFIRM LYNCH?
WHAT THE @#$%^&*!?
Let's put this more bluntly: If Cruz is skipping Armed Services committee hearings and skipping important votes, such as this one regarding a person who is just fine with unlimited Executive power, will he be another President who gets his security briefings on his blackberry and goes to bed during a Middle East flare-up like Benghazi?
PING!
I think they’re worse than spineless jellyfish. Democrats couldn’t do a better job of advancing Hussein’s agenda.
The ten “republican” traitors (from the official U.S. Senate Roll Call Vote web site): Ayotte (R-NH); Cochran (R-MS); Collins (R-ME); Flake (R-AZ); Graham (R-SC); Hatch (R-UT); Johnson (R-WI); Kirk (R-IL); McConnell (R-KY); Portman (R-OH)

It allows Obama to triple-down on lawlessness. It makes sure that illegal-immigration becomes 10 times as bad. It ensures all guns will be banned within 10 years. It makes jailing, killing, and harassing conservatives much easier. It allows for the destruction of Christians and the oppression of whites.
This is what both named-instances of the Democrat party want.
Im glad that Im not a pessimist concerning this issue as you evidently are.
Ms. Lynch has extensive experience both as a private practitioner and as a U.S. attorney for the Eastern District of New York, said Johnson. According to all reports and evidence, she has performed her duties in those positions capably and in a professional manner. Although I share the concerns many of my colleagues have expressed over portions of her testimony during confirmation hearings, elections matter and the president has the right to select members of his cabinet. As a result, I voted to confirm Ms. Lynch as attorney general. Ron Johnson
Traitors, plain and simple.
Plus Alexander and Corker of TN both voted for her..
Neither of which I have EVER voted..
NO! Not yet! We cannot jeopardize 2016! We need to hold our nose and vote for Jeb Bush, THEN ... THEN we can hold their feet to the fire!!
Yeah, we have to choose our battles carefully. Or something.
Well, I guess I’ll be sitting out his next election. Jerk! Time for Feingold to swoop back in. Aarrggghhh!
Give it up already!
Cruz had a perfectly good reason to miss the vote. He had already announced he would not vote in favor of Lynch and he knew She had the votes.
I go one step further: If Cruz runs as a Republican, I can't vote for him.
The Republican brand is as -- no, MORE -- poisoned than the Democrat brand.
Aw, vote 3rd party; it’s cathartic.
He is the first politician on a national scale I’ve been excited about since I became eligible to vote.
Well, you see, we have to pick the ones we strategically want to lose, and then pick the ones we want to lose hardcore, and pick the ones we want to lose hardcore and in flames, and then pick the ones in we want to give Obama every single thing he wants and then some, and then flog ourselves for not figuring out a way to give him even more than that!
I’m out of breath.
