Try it. Experiment with it. It’s free. I keep it on my address bar. Use it all the time. I guess it’s kind of a third party system. You ask them, then they ask,in their name, all the big search engines like google, Bing, Jeeves, etc, which send Ixquick the results. Then Ixquick sends them to you......I guess?
Click on the link I gave, and then click on that page to read their privacy policies.

“Anonymity on the Internet is hard, and simple recipes like this one will not work. The least troublesome method that is still effective is to browse only in Private mode, and close the tabs as you switch sites. Watch the cookies. Install add-ons that mess with the signature of your browser. Have multiple browsers, multiple OSes (in separate VMs.) Rememember that your IP address is largely fixed, unless you are connecting from a large NAT.”
Or use a proxy. ;-)

I checked mine. Since I had never turned it on, there were exactly ZERO entries.

That is what I suspected. If you delete it the only person who is denied access to it is yourself.

Or use a proxy. ;-) There aren't too many open proxies that you can trust. I don't know any, for example. Of course, proxies come included with TOR and I2P, but TOR seems to be compromised, and I2P is too complex for a common man to set up.

Don’t kid yourself that you are deleting THEIR servers. They, and whoever finds their way in, will ALWAYS have the info.
