Liberals Sputter As Scott Walker Proposes Bold New Immigration Platform

Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker, a likely 2016 GOP presidential candidate, is marching forward with his bold new pro-American worker immigration policy. He’s not afraid to push for a legal immigration system that doesn’t box out American workers with a massive influx of inexpensive foreign labor.

After first rolling out his new ideas on Glenn Beck’s radio program on Monday, Walker appeared on Fox News’ Megyn Kelly’s show to further elaborate on how he hopes to protect Americans economically from special interests pushing for a massive influx in cheap foreign labor from around the world.

“When it comes to immigration, as a governor I don’t have any direct role in that—but having talked to border state governors and having talked to other people, seeing how screwed up immigration has become under this president, it was clear to me talking to them and listening on this issue, traveling to the border actually going there with the governor of Texas Gov. Abbott, seeing the problems there, yeah from my standpoint going forward we need to secure the border, we need to enforce the laws that we currently have with an e-verify system,” Walker said.

“You’re pretty much in line with the other Republican candidates on this,” Kelly asked as a follow-up.

“Well the one thing they’re not saying is we need to make sure as part of that any future legal immigration system that goes forward has to account for American citizens and the workers of this country and their wages to make sure that even with legal immigration in this country we respond to it in a way that doesn’t take jobs away from hardworking Americans,” Walker added, separating himself from the rest of the 2016 field.

Okay Erik, if that’s true then both men are unsupportable.

I appreciate you bringing that to my attention.

It doesn’t save Scott Walker. Scott is a liar on top of support the McCain/Kennedy blueprint.

Nice work.

Erik, that was sourced from a Left wing site.

I will agree to your point, if you can find a speech or a quote of Ted’s to prove your point, not from a Left wing site.

I provided to you a thirteen minute interview, heralding Walker’s problem.

You should be able to provide something of that level to me.

While you labor under the assumption Cruz is tough on immigration, consider this:

"Cruz is part of large group of politicians who will not acknowledge the H-1B's visas use in offshore outsourcing or the reality of U.S. workers who are forced to train their visa-holding replacements. In defending this H-1B increase, Cruz cited a study by the American Enterprise Institute, which argued that visa workers create jobs. This organization primarily represents the views of large companies and asset management firms."

It doesn’t save Scott Walker. Scott is a liar on top of support the McCain/Kennedy blueprint.

When Walker was on Milwaukee City Council, they passed a resolution supporting the McCain/Kennedy blueprint.

Walker added to the resolution that the city council does not support amnesty for illegals.

It has been reported here on FR with a photocopy of the resolution and Walker's addition.

So, once again you are WRONG and a LIAR.

Either that or you are the most ill-informed FReeper I have ever met and will swallow anything the liberals ejaculate while ignoring what conservatives post.

You need a real self-examination.

Walker is not the anti-Christ. He did amazing things in office that would make any conservative proud.

But you, and few others would prefer to believe liberal snippets of his quotes (edited) rather than look at his ACTIONS.

Sorry, sending illegals home is the most important goal on the agenda for the next president.

We have 30 million illegals here now.

In seven years they are citizens and can sponsor family members to come over. At five per, that’s 150 million.

In seven more years another round of chain migration takes place and then 150 million can bring family members over.

If they bring 5 more each, that’s 750 million.

Our population goes from 320 million to 500 million to 1.25 billion in less than 15 years.

Scott’s or Ted’s plan to leave illegals here, isn’t an option.

In a March 1 interview with Fox's Chris Wallace, he owned the shift in his position.

He doesn't support amnesty, he has said on several occasions this year.

Asked whether his position had changed since 2013, he said, "Absolutely. I look at the problems we've experienced for the last few years. I've talked to governors on the border and others out there. I've talked to people all across America. And the concerns I have is that we need to secure the border. We ultimately need to put in place a system that works. A legal immigration system that works. And part of doing this is put the onus on employers, getting them E-Verify and tools to do that. But I don't think you do it through amnesty."

Walker wasn't shy about his course reversal at the time.

"My view has changed. I'm flat out saying it," Walker told Wallace. "A candidate can say that."

Have you ever been informed about an idea and changed your view? Or were you born with the absolute perfect perspective on everything?

Do you understand the definitions of the words, 'core', and 'principle'?

In a nutshell, the phrase conveys the concept of deeply held, fundamental convictions, that a person possesses. Normally, such convictions are forged within a person at a very young age.

As times change, and societal events move and shake our world, most people are guided in their thinking and actions by their core principles. This type of person doesn't 'evolve' or 'transform' over time, in reaction to what's happening around them. If asked how they think about anything, they can always give you a straight, unambiguous answer, because their opinions are guided by something much deeper than surface level thinking.

Of course, there's also the type of person who's compromised their core principles so often in life, that they're continually having to formulate what they think is the proper, or winning stance, on every single issue they face in life. That type of person never has a ready answer to any question you present to them, because they've betrayed whatever core values they once possessed. This is the type that changes their views to fit a perceived 'winning' or popular stance.

This is what I observe to be the fundamental difference between Ted Cruz and Scott Walker.

my thought is that scott walker has now peaked in the GOP primary polls ...

I don't know that he's peaked, but his inability to show a consistent pattern in his stances on important issues over time, is going to brand him as a flip-flopper or worse, in many voters' minds.

Once that perception begins to set in, his momentum will slow considerably, and he'll wind up on defense, much as Mitt was, last time around.

Here you go:

Cruz is for the legalization of those already here:

http://www.nytimes.com/2013/09/13/us/cruz-tries-to-claim-the-middle-ground-on-immigration.html?pagewanted=all

Snippet from the article:

What has not been as evident is what “he supports: legal status for millions of people here already, while making it easier for immigrants to come here through the front door”.
