A potential showdown is looming over a pair of City Council proposals that would decriminalize a host of offenses including fare-beating, drinking on the street and public urination in an overhaul that could dramatically impact the NYPDs broken windows approach to policing.

In before a liber-tarian gets in and uses the slogan of why should Govt tell people where to go to the bathroom.
The people of NYC are getting what they voted for and fort hose who did not vote for this lunacy then they should move to a place where their votes do count.
I know I will never go back to the socialist hell hole after the last trip there.
Libertarians believe that if you urinate wherever you want, you will suffer the consequences, indecent exposure jail time, public urination fines and an ass beating by the property owner.
I am just speaking as one.
Going back to the bad old Dinkins days, or worse...
Giuliani cleaned up NYC.
de Blasio is turning it back into a cesspool.
Should I be horrified or amused? (I don't live there)
Both... I suppose.
Maybe more New Yorkers will move across the river and boost my property value.
I said "Bound and gagged in the trunk of a car."
Just what NYC needs—more public urination.
LOL.
That would be the only way for me to go to NY city too.
I found it way over priced, people were rude, no one can drive up there at all, NYPD are not professional for the most part, scam artists everywhere, dirty, I could go on and on
Pretty sure I had a post a long time ago calling him Dinkins II
Public urination will be allowed, but anyone who tries to hose down their property to get rid of the odor will be arrested for wasting water.
While we're busy defining deviancy down, could you imagine, for a moment, of Yokohama or Tokyo or Osaka or Bonn or Paris or any other RESPECTABLE city council would even contemplate this?
Why would anyone go to New York?
They're killing their own tourism. In some cities, the rank smell of urine in alleys and doorways causes people to decline another visit downtown. Why does NYC think they're SO special that it won't apply to them as well?
The generation of the 70s who lived through the rotten apple forgot to tell the new kids why it happened.
As a child of the early 80s, that was my formative familiarity with New York, based on my parents’ observation, the news, and movies of the time.
Complete hellhole.
I understood the enormity of the concept that Giuliani had cleaned up the city.
What could go wrong?
Bump
So peepee is OK? What if I gotta poop! It’s still not FAIR!
That the way is was before Mayor Giuliani.
You obviously know jack sh*t about libertarian philosophy.
