Former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush has joined Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid in calling for Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell to abandon his pre-election promise to fight President Obamas executive amnesty by holding a vote to confirm U.S. Attorney Loretta Lynch as Attorney General.
I think that presidents have the right to pick their team, Bush said in New Hampshire at an event with about 95 voters and a horde of media, according to Time Magazines Zeke Miller.
The longer it takes to confirm her, the longer Eric Holder stays as Attorney General, Bush said, echoing a talking point that Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) has used to justify his planned vote for Lyncheven though a vote for her is a vote for Obamas executive amnesty.
Bushs move comes as hes lost his frontrunner statusdespite all the money hes raking inin the 2016 GOP primary to Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker, who opposes Lynchs nomination and now leads Bush in polls in all three early primary states.
Reid, appearing on Rachel Maddows MSNBC program on Thursday, alsolike Bushcalled for Senate Republicans to confirm Lynch immediately.
I had a conversation today with a number of Republicans and told them really to get her done, or I will make sure they will have an opportunity to vote against her, Reid said. The Huffington Post then laid out, citing Reids top aide Adam Jentleson, how the Senate Minority Leader would force a vote on Lynch if the GOP leaders like McConnell keep blocking the vote.
...
At this time, there are only five Senate Republicans who plan to support Lynch: Sens. Lindsey Graham (R-SC), Jeff Flake (R-AZ), Susan Collins (R-ME), Orrin Hatch (R-UT), and Mark Kirk (R-IL).

What a disappointment Flake has become.
Jeb Bush is a stalking horse for the Democrat candidate, whoever it turns out to be. If he wanted to be president he would run in the Democrat primaries.
Wrong. You don’t lose your God-given rights when you incorporate. The problem is the Leviathan.
Jeb Bush
The GOPe and inside the Beltway Conservative Candidate for President.
Not the real deal for American Conservatives that matter.
Cruz for President. Right is Might!!!!
Isn’t that the truth. We don’t have two parties in this country, we have the uniparty.
Like most of us on here we only give unpaid opinions.
The right to incorporate as an entity of property was granted and not by God. Before big business went global they were American. That is the major difference between 1960s corporations and those of today. Now they view all countries as a means to an end, and not as a loyal American citizen. They now view sovereignty as an obstruction to that end.
They are essentially like mercenaries serving only those who pay, buy or invest in them whether they be in USA or a sovereign wealth fund of China or Yemen, or Brazil. . I don’t have problem with global corporations serving global shareholders, but I do when they get to buy our politicians. Like it or not that leviathan is us and if it is corrupted we get screwed.
Every single time I see Jeb Bush quoted on anything, I have this desire to put a pair of forks in my eyeballs.
meh
That’s it for Jeb Bush for president for me. I wouldn’t vote for that bum no matter what now.
I hear ya. I think I heard him interviewed a few years back and I was impressed. Today's Jeff Flake isn't the same guy. He's, well, a FLAKE!
Jeb Bush also wants to raise the retirement age!

Rand Paul's immigration speech...The Republican Party must embrace more legal immigration.[Posted on 03/19/2013 7:04:07 AM PDT by Perdogg]
Unfortunately, like many of the major debates in Washington, immigration has become a stalemate-where both sides are imprisoned by their own rhetoric or attachment to sacred cows that prevent the possibility of a balanced solution.
Immigration Reform will not occur until Conservative Republicans, like myself, become part of the solution. I am here today to begin that conversation.
Let's start that conversation by acknowledging we aren't going to deport 12 million illegal immigrants.
If you wish to work, if you wish to live and work in America, then we will find a place for you...
This is where prudence, compassion and thrift all point us toward the same goal: bringing these workers out of the shadows and into being taxpaying members of society.
Imagine 12 million people who are already here coming out of the shadows to become new taxpayers.12 million more people assimilating into society. 12 million more people being productive contributors.
Rand Paul calls on conservatives to embrace immigration reformLatinos, should be a natural constituency for the party, Paul argued, but "Republicans have pushed them away with harsh rhetoric over immigration." ...he would create a bipartisan panel to determine how many visas should be granted for workers already in the United States and those who might follow... [and the buried lead] "Imagine 12 million people who are already here coming out of the shadows to become new taxpayers...[Posted on 04/21/2013 1:52:42 PM PDT by SoConPubbie]
[but he's not in favor of amnesty, snicker, definition of is is]
We DON’T need a Justice Dept run by a Lynch mob!
If I was a liberal in 2015, I’d be laughing and crapping on everyone too. :)
Has he called it “compassionate conservatism” yet like his brother?
The Bush’s view of a “loving”, “compassionate” government is simply socialist tyranny with gooey eyes and a smile.
Jeb would be a great Presidential nominee...for the Democratic Party. In all seriousness, I wish somebody would ask this guy how his Presidency would be substantially different from a Clinton Presidency.
No...he needs to utilize explosive...
He’s great at lighting his own fuse...
