FAIL! Sorry Dr. Ben. It ain't brain surgery. If you have to keep clarifying your stance on the 2nd amendment, then you are NOT the candidate. My congrats on your many accomplishment over the years, but maybe you would be better suited for the sturgeon colonels job in the next administration.

From what I recall about what he’s daid, when you start to equivocating about restrictions and what the citizen should be allowed to have based on locale alone, you have stepped into the ‘enemy’ category for me. Take it to the curb, Ben.

Agreed. If you have to say you are not sure what kind of weapon the average citizen should be allowed to own then you have no understanding of the 2nd amendment and probably are not a big proponent of it.

Surgeon General would be a good job for Carson. Not President.

Which candidates continually need to “clarify” their positions?
.
Walker, Rubio, Paul, Perry, Bush, Christie . . .
.
That’s my list, not necessarily inclusive. If anyone disagrees, please enlighten me.

This clown has no business running for president. But the affirmative-action wing of FR will beg to differ.

Ben spends WAY too much time having to clarify past remarks. Doesn’t bode well for a Presidential campaign.

Here’s another example that may need “clarifying” before all is said and done:

“Certain communicable diseases have been largely eradicated by immunization policies in this country and we should not allow those diseases to return by foregoing safe immunization programs, for philosophical, religious or other reasons when we have the means to eradicate them.”

Cruz is the one.
Walker isn’t bad.

All the other candidates are a complete waste of time.

extremely pro-Second Amendment

That is right up there with Romney's "severely conservative".

==

I do not understand why Carson is getting such high polling numbers in the various straw polls. White guilt among conservatives? Carson is the least politically qualified wannabe.

The next prez is going to have to have a strong political background to clean out the Obamaites and Clintonites entrenched in high government offices and to handle Congress while repealing Obamacare and other Obama policies.

We have seen, for the last 6 years, how disasterous an OJT president can be.

FLASHBACK:
Gas Tax Campaign Gets Ugly Fast (also Ben Carson and guns)

A couple weeks ago, Carson used a nationwide tele-townhall to walk back some comments he made on the Glenn Beck show. Carson said that people have the right to own firearms, but when asked about semi-automatic weapons Carson said, “It depends on where you live. I think if you live in the midst of a lot of people, and I’m afraid that that semi-automatic weapon is going to fall into the hands of a crazy person, I would rather you not have it,” Carson elaborated. However, if you live “out in the country somewhere by yourself” and want to own a semi-automatic weapon, he added, “I’ve no problem with that.”

4 months ago Carson didn’t even know what a semi-automatic weapon is.

Is he really saying that some 'hoods are less safe than others?
We know it's true, I'm just surprised he dares say it.
I would think that people living in such places have the same right to defend themselves as others, and a greater need to boot.
Yea, we don't want guns in the hands of criminals. Same old argument.
The problem is they already have them.
Let the good people have guns too, and watch the crime rate go down.

I would never allow anyone to tamper with that right

"Unless, of course, you live in a city - and then I think you should maybe not own a gun..."

Ben - the toothpaste of out of the tube and the words are out of your mouth, and despite what the left likes to think, we DO have memories.

Save your money and some stress - hang it up.

I agree. Bush I claimed he was pro 2A and signed an import ban on “assault weapons” when he was in office. If somebody does not unambiguously support the 2nd Amendment, they will be talked into stupid stuff once they are in office.

I will not bad mouth or disrespect Dr. Ben Carson. Professionally he has done more to help people than most of us would ever be able to do in our lifetimes. He is a good, honorable person, conservative, brilliant, and accomplished.

I don't think he is ready to be POTUS, and I also don't think he is the right person for this time. I will explain on this later when talking about Ted Cruz.

I am extremely thrilled that we have BRILLIANT minds in our conservative primary - a constitutional legal mind in Senator Ted Cruz, and a medical/scientific prodigy in Dr. Ben Carson.

We have strong, accomplished people like Dr. Ben Carson and Col. Allen West from an African American background, in the conservative movement.

I also think there was a cost to Dr. Carson for openly speaking up about "da won" and liberalism. He could have led a quiet life, respected and without the nasty attention of the liberal crazies.
