The Obama administration announced Wednesday that it had opened a gender-neutral bathroom for staff and visitors within the White House complex.
The newly designated restroom will be located in the Eisenhower Executive Office Building, where much of the White House staff works, Politico reported.
The restroom is the latest in a series of symbolic steps the president has taken to protect the rights of LGBT individuals, following an executive order that bans discrimination against LGBT employees of companies that contract with the federal government, Politico reported.

When I was traveling with my husband who had Alzheimers, it was really important for me to be able to use a gender neutral or “family” bathroom to care for him.

My house too. Furthermore, I've seen them scattered here and there in small businesses everywhere over the past 60 years.
There's a nice little restaurant not two miles from my house, one bathroom in the whole place, you need to use it, go in, lock the door and use it, (try not to pee on the lid)
. I do however, see a difference in putting them in schools, air ports and other larger public places.
Are the stalls equipped with “glory holes”?

In my house, the gender neutral bathroom doesn't have all the bottles, tubes, cans, brushes, and tiny tools.

I have no problem with a “no stall” one seater bathroom being a family bathroom. No need to call it a “gender neutral” bathroom other than to politisize it. Situations like yours, taking a child to the bathroom, and the one seater variety is the only reason I can see for a having a bathroom of the family type. I do have issue with a multi-seater being gender neutral because it just begging for bad things to happen. I wish we had a president who didn’t politisize everything. We all know why he’s pushing this issue and why he and Michelle will be almost be immediately divorced as soon as he leaves office. Mission accomplished.
Well, not sure what I am supposed to do. The republicans in congress seem to have quit. A lot of Christian (?) churches seem to have quit. Schools are overrun with liberals. The media is on the liberals side. Other than complaining on FB and FR, I don’t know how to change things.
