MADISON, Wis. (AP) Gov. Scott Walker heads to Europe this week on a trade mission featuring private meetings with business and government representatives in Germany, France and Spain, as he ramps up for a likely bid for the Republican presidential nomination in 2016.
The most high-profile event on Walker's itinerary comes Tuesday when he's slated to deliver a 15-minute speech titled "Opportunities for bilateral trade and investment" at the Hannover Messe trade show in Germany. That is the world's largest industrial fair, Walker's office said in the documents detailing the trip provided to The Associated Press....
Walker's last trade mission was in February when he went to Great Britain. Walker in 2013 also traveled to China and attended the Japan-Midwestern Conference. Gov. Scott Walker heads to Europe on trade mission as he ramps up likely White House bid
Scott Walker trip to Great Britain costs Wisconsin taxpayers $138,000.
Guy barely works, is frequently out of the state and is burning through tax dollars as he campaigns for a job other than the one he has.
Yeah, a real outsider and refreshing conservative, that Walker.
Go Scott!
Governors go to these things to try to attract business and jobs to their state. It’s nothing new. If it brings jobs to WI, I think it’s money well spent. It’s no small task either after the fight over collective bargaining. What business wants to move to WI after watching liberals and unions create mayhem in Madison? WI needs jobs, and not just for teachers.
And now he’s in Nashville stumping and fundraising at an NRA convention. Bringing guns home and creating ammo for Wisconsin?
Obama’s always stumping and fund raising and vacationing using AF1 and SS service security, costing millions of taxpayer dollars. I suppose you like him better. $138,000 is a pittance. You’re saying Gov Walker doesn’t have a right to run for president?
