Bachelor Nation: 70% of Men Aged 20-34 Are Not Married

(CNSNews.com) – Seventy percent of American males between the ages of 20 and 34 are not married, and many live in a state of “perpetual adolescence” with ominous consequences for the nation’s future, says Janice Shaw Crouse, author of “Marriage Matters.”

“Far too many young men have failed to make a normal progression into adult roles of responsibility and self-sufficiency, roles generally associated with marriage and fatherhood,” Crouse, the former executive director of the Beverly LaHaye Institute, wrote in a recent Washington Times oped.

The high percentage of bachelors means bleak prospects for millions of young women who dream about a wedding day that may never come. “It’s very, very depressing,” Crouse told CNSNews.com. “They’re not understanding how important it is for the culture, for society, for the strength of the nation to have strong families.”

Correct. The economy is taking a toll there.

Finding a good one back then was apparently much easier than it is today. :P

It’s as Ann Landers used to say, “Why buy the cow when the milk is free.”

I heartily second your post. The number of women who want to get married, have a kid and stay home to take care of them is huge in my friends circle. Every one of them has a professional degree and can get a 6 figure job in a heartbeat in the Bay Area. Finding the right guy seems to be the issue increasingly. There is a certain allure to a hippie live for today and yourself lifestyle that a lot go for. All have careers and would rather date continuously than get married. It is a choice especially among successful men.

That is not what women say.

What is the red pill?

Yep. I can see that. Children with ash trays.

29 here and somehow I think I stepped into the twilight zone on this thread.

Democrat agendas are more the domain of bitter, old, anti-family harpies and the homo male feminists under their wings, but they do project.

Here's part of the agenda of the feminists and homosexuals controlling Obama.

"Then it will be plain that the first condition for the liberation of the wife is to bring the whole female sex back into public industry, and that this in turn demands the abolition of the monogamous family as the economic unit of society" (Frederick Engels, "Origins of the Family, Private Property, and the State").

Mao's Little Red Book on Women
http://www.paulnoll.com/China/Mao/Mao-31-Women.html

Some of Lenin's words on women
http://www.marx.org/archive/lenin/works/1919/nov/06.htm

The following is from the "Manifesto of the Communist Party" (Karl Marx (1818-1883) and Fredrick Engels)
http://www.marxists.org/archive/marx/works/1848/communist-manifesto/ch02.htm

"The bourgeois sees his wife a mere instrument of production. He hears that the instruments of production are to be exploited in common, and, naturally, can come to no other conclusion that the lot of being common to all will likewise fall to the women."

He has not even a suspicion that the real point aimed at is to do away with the status of women as mere instruments of production.

For the rest, nothing is more ridiculous than the virtuous indignation of our bourgeois at the community of women which, they pretend, is to be openly and officially established by the Communists. The Communists have no need to introduce free love; it has existed almost from time immemorial."

“Everyone who knows anything of history also knows that great social revolutions are impossible without the feminine ferment. Social progress may be measured precisely by the social position of the fair sex (plain ones included)” (Karl Marx Letter to Ludwig Kugelmann, MECW, Volume 43, p. 184, http://www.marxists.org/archive/marx/works/1868/letters/68_12_12.htm)

With the statistical likelihood their first marriage will just be a “starter” marriage anyway, and they’ll lose at least half their money and material goods, there’s quite a built-in disincentive not to tie the knot.

Susan B. Anthony and some of her friends were followers of the commie, Charles Fourier. Even early feminism as a sacred cow has long been slaughtered with proper citations and has no standing in truly conservative politics.

Not a way to start a family. But of course, you’re just #ing around.

“I bought a brand-new house as a single person before my first marriage (meaning she wasn’t on the title) but guess who got the house?”

Damn... normally the divorce settlement should only pertain to what you accumulated during the marriage. In what state did you get your divorce?

“I would bet money that the virginity rate for males is at an all time high for the last 40 years today.”

I would bet you’re completely wrong. Why get married when you can just bang half the broads you meet? Chicks are just as bad as guys nowadays.

Demise of the traditional family unit.... IMHO... is the cause...

Men don’t know how to be men; immaturity and masculiinity are delayed or foriegn, selfishness reins.... and young women are raised to beleive a man is not important in the picture of a complete and and successfull life...

Tragic... guess God was right....

*WE* didn't turn them into whores.

The feminists turned some of them into whores, and the rest of the herd followed. (Moooo!!)

your statements are all bullshit....

I work with women, many young women, and they WANT to get married and most of them want children and they want to stay home to raise them...

sadly, their boyfriends have crappy jobs with no security, or they lack ambition, or don't work at all....

you see there's consequences to our "boys" spending their youth in front of their computers having a sex life..

Go ahead and frantically blame men. It won't work.

Men have begun to learn to watch what women *do*, and not listen to what they *say*.
