The Phi Kappa Psi fraternity at the University of Virginia said Monday that it is moving forward with a possible lawsuit against Rolling Stone magazine in the wake of the now-retracted "Rape on Campus" article.
"After 130 days of living under a cloud of suspicion as a result of reckless reporting by Rolling Stone magazine, today the Virginia Alpha Chapter of Phi Kappa Psi announced plans to pursue all available legal action against the magazine," the fraternity said in a statement.
A spokesman for the fraternity said there has not yet been a formal decision about when a lawsuit will be filed.
The announcement came one day after the magazine published a damning external review of the editorial processes that resulted in the article's publication. The article had alleged that a freshman student named Jackie had been violently gang-raped during a Phi Kappa Psi frat party in September 2012.

I mean this in the nicest possible way.
She did what 90% of all university presidents (and an increasing number of so-called “conservative” politicians) would do in similar circumstances: cave in to political correctness.
Sue them for this dishonest article and for enlarging Al Gore’s Penis undeservedly.
Phi Kappa Psi to ‘pursue all available legal action’ against Rolling Stone
Now this I regard as good news. Any lawsuits against any liberal media company are in the best interest of society. I wish we could sue them all out of existence, or at least until they change their biased ways.
The question is "Can they get the case before a Phi Psi judge? "
Interesting point huh. Good one.
.
Go for it!

Not only do the Rolling Stones, soon to be known as the Flat Rocks, have a big dose of reality coming, but I haven’t heard anything about the college getting a bill for its services? Remember the Quick Draw McGraw genius there that threw the frat out of its campus house? He’s got a big knee -in-the-groin coming also. That’s almost enough to make me want to go to law school to learn enough of the fine points to drive nails in the heads of all these halfassed touchyfeely PC reprobates. There needs to be a major firing at the school just to slow down the next ahole who takes a notion to save the world for dirty newsrags.
It would be nice if this wave washes up on a lot of Liberal shores.
That is very noticeable...they did not apologize to the people they wrongfully smeared. But that is the mind of a social warrior leftist, where facts do not matter.
An apology would be an admission of guilt. The lawyers are in charge now
Not only did they not dorectly apologize to the frat but then blamed the ‘victim’ for lying. And where is this war on women?
I hope they take Rolling Stone to the cleaners.
Depends on how they spin this. If RS goes on the stand and says “Well, this case was false. The reason we believed it was because of the large amount of rapes that happen”, they might win because of PR. RS seems pretty brazen right now.
The Phi Kappa is in a desperate situation though. A Fraternity is always two years or less from going under, and after this I don’t think to many mothers will let their sons join no matter what the outcome. They have nothing to lose.
They are viewing the president of UVA as a hero.
Watch, they will start portraying her as a victim soon if the fraternity sues UVA.
Noticed this earlier and didn't mention it. You meant the Rolling Stone Magazine, not the Rolling Stones musical entity.
Anyone who hasn’t already seen it should rent “Absence of Malice.” Great Paul Newman movie from 1981 which was the original source of the Ray Donovan quote.
+1.
