Signing far-reaching executive orders seems to have become contagious in American government, at least among Democrats.
Gov. Jerry Brown went on national TV Sunday to explain his newly-announced mandatory water restrictions that will, among other things, require California residents to shower less. And if you've ever visited France, you know what that means.
Last week Brown, now in his fourth term as chief executive of the nation's most populous state, said California has not properly prepared for the kind of long-term drought it appears to face now. Brown, who turns 77 Tuesday, did not blame George W. Bush, but instead global warming.

I said a while back that I can thank those Californians who are sacrificing their carbon footprint so that I can increase mine.
Well, now I can thank those Californians who are going to sacrifice their shower footprint so that I can increase mine.
I get the added benefit of recycling...my words.
Decade after decade of this, and something the media has never done here, is gotten into reporting on the rich, and water.
A book years ago mentioned how environmentalist Barbara Streisand was using almost $2,000.00 of water a month, and I know that ins’t so unusual here.
Anyone who visits the homes of the wealthy here, knows that they are water intensive with giant showers, jetted tubs, hot tubs, pools, fountains, irrigation, etc,and that the working class apartments and little homes, are not.
The media could have a ball during these times, with stories contrasting the rich and the people who serve them, but there is no interest in that here.
How much water would be saved if the millions of illegal immigrants were not any water?
Easy.
Calculate an amount of water a household needs without showers and limited each household to that amount.
Local water companies can limit the amount of water a household can use per month by sending very high fines to homeowners who exceed specified level.
I wish they all

But make no mistake we are all going to pay eventually. When agriculture collapses, it will send shivers thru the country. Right now they are saying agriculture “deserves” more water...but wait til the gibmedats start appearing on the local news sobbing about being thirsty....
You can almost see and hear it.
I guess in the People’s Republic of California, its harder to take Other People’s Water than it is to take Other People’s Money.
I don’t know what the water restriction will be, but you can take a very nice (and thorough) bath/hair wash with a 5 gallon bucket of warm water. Take something like a red Solo cup & wet down hair/body, lather up hair, wash bod with soap or whatever you use, then start rinsing from the top. By the time the hair is totally rinsed, the body pretty much is as well. If there is water left in the bucket (I usually had some), just dump it over your head. Using the bucket, you know exactly how much water you are using. I would fill it up, take out a pot of water & heat on the stove to just boiling, then add the hot water back to the bucket and the temp was perfect for me. My dad and his family took bucket baths when he grew up on a farm .... as a boy, he washed off on the back steps and granddad had a bucket around the side of the house. We are SO spoiled in this day and age in so many ways (electricity & running/hot water come to mind first). For those Libs/Leftists in CA, one would hope this situation would be a teachable moment; however, since Liberalism appears to be a mental disorder, it likely won’t make any difference.
At least the snail darter has plenty of water even if the people don’t.
Pray America is waking
We need to keep pounding the point that this is all the result of poor water management. GOOD water management turned a state that was known to be a bit of a desert environment into a garden spot. Modern environmentalism is simply returning it to its natural state.
” My Aunt lives in Germany, which has been having lots and lots of rain, but because of the Greens they are mandated to two showers a week!”
Tell your aunt to not to listen to the Greens.
there are plenty of bathing places - ocean, lakes, rivers, swimming pools - - -
and rest assured the San Francisco bath house will never close -
all of which will do little to alleviate the smell from the West
Leftist Californians would rather blame phony global warming, i.e., Republicans, for their water problems rather than environmental extremism, too many swimming pools, and overpopulation by illegals. Is there any study quantifying the extent to which the problem is attributable to lack of water storage facilities and environmental restrictions on water transmission?
Also I seem to remember an old slogan from some place or another: “conserve water, shower with a friend!!”
We need to reinforce the border- with California!
They aren’t taking my sugar, fat, cigarettes or shower.
