This song really kicked off Steve Winwood's international career. He would go on to front Traffic, Blind Faith and a very successful solo career in the 80's
Gimme Some Lovin' (1966)
~ Spencer Davis Group featuring Stevie Winwood ~
On Toto's late 80's world tour Steve Lukather brushed off this chestnut as part of the band's set, and the 1966 original started getting airplay in the British Isles.
Gimme Some Lovin' (1988)
~ Toto ~
Terry Reid was Jimmy Page's first choice for lead vocals in "The New Yardbirds". Reid turned him down and drummer John Bonham from "The Band of Joy" suggested his mate Robert Plant. It worked out, except for the name of the band, Bonzo said it would go over like a lead balloon ... more like a Led Zeppelin. Terry went on to a successful solo career in the UK and finally broke America when Rob Zombie dubbed him to create the soundtrack for "The Devil's Rejects" film.
Gimme Some Lovin' (1990)
~ Terry Reid ~
Following Reid's UK success with "Gimme Some Lovin'" in the summer of 1990, Spencer Davis released a remake (without Winwood who was a mega star). It was almost identical to Reid's offering the previous year and actually spawned a revival of Terry Reid's superior version.

I guess it is not salsa, but
do you know anything about a song called: Llorando Se Fue?
It was a haunting tune that I first heard in Mexico 35 years ago.
I have two versions of it.
One by a rock band (Cuarteto Continente);
and one by a Peruvian pan flute band (Los Kjarkas).

Good evening, Luv!
*HUGS*
Thanks very much for Bobby Helms "My Special Angel!" I was in 5th Grade when that song came out - many fond memories of that time!

I forgot to mention that back in the 80s that song in lambada was big in the Latin clubs here.
