There are few things more beautiful - or terrifying - than the menacing flash of lightning bolts within a volcanic ash cloud.
The latests picture, captured by an amateur photographer as the Colima volcano in Mexico spews out a plume of ash and lava, reveals the raw power of a volcanic eruption.
Hernando Rivera Cervantes took the pictures as local authorities warned those living around the volcano, which is also known as the Fire volcano, to prepare for a possible evacuation.

Found the “static” word. “....during an eruption causes a built of up static charge.” Those brits and their wording. :>}
for example: Your zot is volcanic....
Very biblical looking....................
Dumbing the news down for their readers enjoyment......................
Saw a comment under the article where somebody says, “Must be what Krakatoa looked like.” LOL! If the photog had been that close to Krakatoa, we wouldn’t be seein’ the picures.
Terrifying.
And no, of course not. The leftie scientists don’t seem all that interested in measuring or even talking about all of the air pollution created by just one actively erupting volcano. There are currently 25 active volcanos around the world. Funny how that air pollution never seems to be brought into the discussion. Wonder why.

Because government has not figured out how to tax or fine it.
Probably ten times that many under the ocean.
Ahhh yes........ feel the power of the zot
You'd think sites dedicated to our foundational principles would understand and honor this. Oh, well...
;^\
Our Founding Fathers restricted government, not private property rights.
They did not allow you to enter a private property to scream anything you wanted without consequences.
“Terrifying” is just one of those typical Daily Mail buzzwords, and generally misapplied. “Hilarious” is another good example.
Funny that that would be your petulant, snotty reply. Whenever I log onto FR, I'm sitting in the privacy of my own home. Further, whenever I enter a publicly funded, publicly accessible space, I have no reasonable expectation of "privacy," as hundreds or even thousands of people are watching my every syllabic inscription. Kind of redefines "private," don't you think?
A "private property" with a big "COME ON IN, SHARE YOUR OPINION!" sign over the door won't stay "private" very long, at least not in anything but the warped minds of the very most delusional among you. Moreover, once its "privacy" is surrendered willingly to the masses, your petulant argument becomes specious as well as snotty.
Dude.
This web site is private property and we post here as a permitted guest of the owner.
I respect Jim Robinson rights to control his property no differently than a brick and mortar building. It appears you see it differently.
I just enjoy a vigorous debate. You aquitted yourself admirably, responding this time with inarguable fact. I thank you for your kind indulgence.
Cheers!
You are absolutely correct....... however, Free Republic is administered according to conservative principles and dogma as defined by the owner.
There are those that would come here to do harm, to upset the flow, to destroy. There are also conservatives, good conservatives and some libertarians that have irritated the administrators and fair or unfair were zotted.
All that set aside, the static discharge within the eruption is a fantastic graphic of the zot
One born from his mothers ear should understand there is more than common desire in play
That static discharge is literally awesome. When we one day figure out how to harness lightning, we’ll have an endless supply of energy...
