I don’t get it. Are people now required to stay in relationships with crazy people just in case leaving them causes a meltdown where they kill hundreds? I can get some of self-blame but it’s not rational and she hopefully will get past it soon. But other people blaming her? Come on!
The Daily Mail not only doesn't edit, it anti-edits. It is the worst, sloppiest most treacherous use of language available in any English-language source supposedly originating from native speakers. The only worse use of the English language is the instructions in board game packages that are translated by computer from Japanese.
