The Obama administration informed House Speaker John A. Boehner this week it will not prosecute former IRS executive Lois G. Lerner for contempt of Congress, concluding that she did not waive her Fifth Amendment rights to avoid answering questions when she was called to testify nearly two years ago.
Ms. Lerner, the figure at the center of the IRS’s tea party targeting scandal, is still facing investigation over the intrusive scrutiny of conservative groups, but the decision by U.S. Attorney Ronald Machen not to pursue the contempt charge approved by the U.S. House does away with at least some of her legal jeopardy.
“We are gratified but not surprised by today’s news,” said William W. Taylor III, Ms. Lerner’s lawyer. “Anyone who takes a serious and impartial look at this issue would conclude that Ms. Lerner did not waive her Fifth Amendment rights. It is unfortunate that the majority party in the House put politics before a citizen’s constitutional rights.”
House Republicans, joined by a half-dozen Democrats, voted to hold Ms. Lerner in contempt of Congress last year after she appeared before the House Oversight Committee in May 2013 and delivered a statement proclaiming her innocence and then refusing to answer the committee’s questions about her activities as head of the IRS division that reviewed groups’ applications for nonprofit status.
Ms. Lerner refused the questions citing her Fifth Amendment right against self-incrimination.

In this view, when the managerial regime cannot get democratic support for its policies, it resorts to sanctimony and social engineering, via programs, court decisions and regulations...
Well there’s a shocker.

Arrogant jerks like Lois Lerner and BO’s justice department were the reason that Bills of Attainder were invented.
If Hillary is elected president, Lerner will again skate free of any prosecution.
I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again: And here we sit, thumbs up our noses. Because to do anything else would require far too much sacrifice.
So, a criminal was tried by her accomplice, and was not charged? WOW!
Of course she won’t. She is just a low level commie ‘RAT doing what the regime ordered her to do.
Obama could’ve taught Nixon a thing or two about how to really run a coverup.
Fitting that this is announced on April Fool’s Day. This administration has made fools of the Republican committee chairmen since the Democrats lost Congress.
At least we have precedent when we take over.
