...ironically, the fire missed her apartment complex and burned through the center of town - who would have seen that coming? I know Mark has never brought this up before.

I don't know how anyone could have insured that it would happen that way. But hay, at least they get a brand spanking new downtown out of the deal, FREE (sort of).

Guess my HOMEowner rates are goin' up cause someone was smoking Weed.

THen they would have to restrict water use to so many gallons per person per month. Equality for all. It is much easier to cut all use across the board by 25%. This really hurts people who already were conserving.

“There is real talk about evacuating parts of California, ...”

I already self-evacuated. And there were many more before and after me. Whites are leaving Mexifornia in droves.

“My point is that we could increase water yield if we just reduced the vegetation densities to something approximating what was here before the hippies put a stop to things — then maybe we might not be in such bad shape water wise”

Same thing in the Sierras. There are too many trees per acre now, and with the reduced snowfall, the trees are weakened and pine beetles are moving in. The diseased and dying trees are fodder for a forest fire.

Liberalism and its unintended consequences strike again.

Depending on zip codes the illegals out number the English speaking natives, citizens.

Two quick stories:

1. Our yard man, a citizen for decades, a tax payer small business owner for years has flown to Mexico with
His family to see his relatives. About ten years ago he joked about going to North Mexico, aka LA to meet his family there. Two years ago, he started going back to Mexico for his yearly visit due to the out of control Mexican gangs. It was safer to return to his home area in Mexico.

2. One of younger relatives is an exec with a company, with its home office in LA. For 2+ years he has stopped flying into LAX, for the same reason he stopped going to Mexico for fishing trips. He didn’t feel safe.

No, what would be an April fool would be Moonbeam announcing he’s ditching the “high speed” rail and using the funds to construction Nuclear/Desalinization plants.

Wishful thinking because liberal leftist illiterates only allow nuclear plants for Iran.

***water flow diversion to save the lives of invaluable snail darters...***

California was the bread basket of the country... and even to the world. The state alone was the fifth largest economy in the world. The tyranical Democraps have been working diligently for many years to cut off the agricultural production of the lush valleys of the state.

Their motive [which they may not be consciously aware of] is to control food and thus control the population. The political ploy is historically effective - re: Joseph Stalin and the Ukrainian grain production diversion.

Tragically, the fools that occupy the Golden State continue to elect tyrants who want to destroy them... We can only stand back in awe and watch -- and encourage food production elsewhere such as Florida.

Bump to #67! That's the truth.

"...Libs up here go ballistic about the low snow levels in the Sierra, and I ask them how much water we get from the Sierra. Most are surprised when they find out none."

Yep! But those photos with the measuring stick in the Sierra make for a great photo op for the Moonbeam and his ilk. And if you're wondering why there is a drought Moonbeam, look up "drought" or "withholding rain" in the Bible, then figure out how the hedonistic laws coming out of Sacramento and the rebellious spirit against God's commandments the majority of you and your legislature embody may be connected with the withholding of water.

“This really hurts people who already were conserving.”

Many of us in previous droughts cracked that code decades ago.

So we advise people not to waste water but never go on conservation until we are told/mandated to.

We have this down 3-4 generation younger relative family group. The woman related only by marriage in spite of being a Stanford grad with hands on reality for most things is an enviral idiot.

She has had her family on strict water conservation for over two years and has bragged about how much they save water.

I sent her an email after hearing about Moonbeam’s 25% reduction and asked which two kids will she be putting up for adoption.

desalinization plants’

I'll bet it wouldn't be too hard to build one, basically a plastic greenhouse built over a shallow pool with a dark liner.

Flood the pool with salt water and the hot CA sun would heat it up, causing evaporation. Gutters on the inside of the structure could direct the condensed water to holding tanks.

About the only moving parts would be pumps.
