The owners of a small pizzeria in Indiana were seemingly the first business to say they would publicly deny service to LGBT couples in the wake of Indiana’s new and controversial Religious Freedom Law.

Shortly after Memories Pizza owners agreed in a local newscast that the Religious Freedom Restoration Act allows them to deny service to LGBT people who wanted their pizza at a same-sex wedding, 1-star Yelp reviews rolled in denouncing the business.

you have proven incapable of mature discussion, and you have proven you aren’t willing to learn something so basic about God/Jesus that the whole Christian experience is based off the concept of the trinity

Maybe he’s a Unitarian...

RE: “...I believe sickoflibs is just a Free Republic troll...”

Then you’d be wrong.

SOL’s been around a hell of a lot longer than you, and he’s been right on more occasions than you can count.

Throwing Scripture passages around does nothing to convince ANYONE of this. This is a political fight.

And Bob434m with you yourself being a Aug 20, 2014 sign-up, calling a long-time Freeper a “troll” is suspicious in and of itself.

Look to the beam in your own eye, sport.

So in other words he’s happy to serve gays as long as he doesn’t know that they’re gay?

Is that not the entire crux of the battleground here? Isn’t that the purpose of the bill’s protective clause? Knowledge of sexual orientation and subsequent denial of service, should they see fit? i’m so glad you finally get it...

Ignorance is bliss and all that

Your commentary on this issue would seem to indicate that...

The issue is religious freedom. This pizza owner stated, clearly, that they would serve gay people.

The religious issue is being part of a homosexual marriage, something that is against the belief of the service provider.

It’s not rocket science. If you don’t see the differentiation between serving gay people and not catering or being part of a homosexual wedding, you need to state why you thing these situations are the same.

this has been explained to the poster you are responding too on a number of posts, and he/she is for whatever reason choosing to remain deliberately obtuse on the matter...ignorant behavior, really...

There is no such thing as a “homosexual wedding”. It’s a same-sex wedding. The participants don’t have to be homosexuals.

The religious issue is being part of a homosexual marriage, something that is against the belief of the service provider.

Isn't homosexuality also against the religious beliefs of the service provider? So then how can the owner say that we're fine with homosexuals in one setting and dead set against them in another?

It’s not rocket science. If you don’t see the differentiation between serving gay people and not catering or being part of a homosexual wedding, you need to state why you thing these situations are the same.

Because they lost my at their hypocrisy. If one is using their faith to determine who they will serve then shouldn't they be consistent about it? Sin is sin. Homosexuality is a sin. Adultery is a sin. Yet I'd bet they'd be glad to cater a second wedding between divorced people. We do not get to choose what sins are really sins and what sins are kind if like sin. Tbe concept of gay marriage flies in the face of everything their religion teaches them. Fine, I accept that, and if they want to run their business based on their faith then I say without reservations that they should have the right to do so. But homosexuality, the underlying reason why the refuse to support the weddings, is a sin as well. So for them to say they're fine if gay people want to eat there just don't expect them to support their getting married seems hypocritical, and an attempt to have their cake and eat it too.

the key in kenosis is giving up “some” of the rights of deity, not giving up all. in becoming incarnated, let alone undergoing John’s baptism, the Christ already had to do this.

it’s worth the study, i believe. it’s interesting to contrast this with how some other religions approach the encounter between God and mankind. there is a reason that Christ beats such philosophies hands down.

It isn’t the same issue based on plain bible teaching. Anything that is not sinful, you may help your enemies do.

So then how can the owner say that we’re fine with homosexuals in one setting and dead set against them in another?

Hmmm...maybe because in one instance he’s merely selling product, but in the other he is being asked to celebrate in he perversity...?

So for them to say they’re fine if gay people want to eat there just don’t expect them to support their getting married seems hypocritical, and an attempt to have their cake and eat it too.

Cake? Pizza? Mix your metaphors much? But FWIW, I have no clue how you find hypocrisy in that stance...again it’s simply selling stock in the one case, and being asked to revel in perceived sin in the other...

“PieterCasparzen;Do you know there are millions of people who profess Christ who are obviously not saved because they routinely commit wicked and sinful acts ?”

Yeah, I have personally 102 million who routinely commit these wicked acts.

Actually, only 5 or 6 in my 61 years.

I will leave it up to God who is or is not saved
