LINCOLN, Neb. — State Sen. Sen. Ernie Chambers isn’t backing down.
The state lawmaker from Omaha defiantly stood Thursday on the floor of the Nebraska Legislature and rejected many of his colleagues’ calls for him to apologize — or even resign — for comparing cops to ISIS terrorists and suggesting he’d shoot a cop if he weren’t nonviolent and had a gun.
“I meant what I said and I said what I meant,” Chambers said.
He said the irony is that lawmakers were discussing freedom of expression on Wednesday, and said it was ignorant and “idle talk” to suggest taking any kind of legal action, since lawmakers are immune from civil or criminal liability in connection with anything they say in the Legislature.
“I’m not going to resign,” he said. “I’m not going to apologize. Why do you think I would apologize?”

It is about time the nation/world see what kind of A$$HOLE(s) that Nebraska State District 11 is and what kind of A$$HOLE they send to “represent” them.
“Cop Killer” Ernie has been the same for over 50 years.
He is the type of American I can imagine sending money and weapons to ISIS. Ernie wants to destroy ‘The Man’, still wrapped up in oldtime rhetoric. Industries need to start boycotting business in that state until he resigns.

If the Legislature had any guts at all - which is evidently doubtful - they’d expel this creep.
Ah, but Ernie gets away with it because he is Black. But this black racist would rage against any White that would say something about killing a black — despite the reason. Blacks like Ernie are making me start to hate Blacks.

If I remember the thread from yesterday he was responding to another senator justifying concealed carry in bars by saying people needed to protect themselves from ISIS. So apparently there is no shortage of idiotic comments in the Nebraska legislature.

He doesn’t have to worry. He has protective pigmentation.
This will not go over well in Nebraska, even if they have to vote to expel him (?? if possible under Nebraska law).
You mean Islam does not excuse from just about any religious duty, including staying teetotal, for the sake of jihad?
He is probably a hero in his district for saying that, what should happen is the cops refuse to work in that district, let Chambers do all the policing.
He reflects the voters in the district, which keeps electing him.

I’ve been in Omaha for a few months now, I have never seen any huge demonstrations yet. But this chap seems to be vying to be the next Al Sharpton.
This is undiscriminating hateful antisocial drivel on his part, assuming the reports are accurate. He ought to consider who enforces the law that keeps him from getting knocked off by some deranged KKK nut. It’s so easy to paint everyone as angels or devils with no in-between... besides what did any officer ever do to him? What’s his grudge even about, if he has any?
