LINCOLN, Neb. — State Sen. Sen. Ernie Chambers isn’t backing down.
The state lawmaker from Omaha defiantly stood Thursday on the floor of the Nebraska Legislature and rejected many of his colleagues’ calls for him to apologize — or even resign — for comparing cops to ISIS terrorists and suggesting he’d shoot a cop if he weren’t nonviolent and had a gun.
“I meant what I said and I said what I meant,” Chambers said.
He said the irony is that lawmakers were discussing freedom of expression on Wednesday, and said it was ignorant and “idle talk” to suggest taking any kind of legal action, since lawmakers are immune from civil or criminal liability in connection with anything they say in the Legislature.
“I’m not going to resign,” he said. “I’m not going to apologize. Why do you think I would apologize?”

The DIMBA$$E$ in the Nebraska “Unicameral” passed TERM LIMITS specifically to get RID of THIS POS BUT the “Law” was so STUPIDLY “Written” that this POS found a way to get himself back in!
If he has police sourced security, they should refuse to work.
My guess, he’s probably got a security detail made up of members of the new black panthers and CAIR.

If I were the police chief in Omaha I’d be tempted to respond “Thank you for warning us, sir. We’ll be ready whenever you want to try to bring it on.”

In the end it’s empty trash talk and even Ernie knows it. He’s so cornveniently “nonviolent” (though he ought to be scrutinized with a microscope to see if that is really so).
However the cops in that place really ought to remind him on a regular basis that his guards aren’t the only reason why some deranged racist hasn’t done something terrible to him long ago. And that if he really has that kind of contempt for the government he ought to leave it.
Term limits yes, overall service limits no.
Nebraska law is written for rational people. Which 99% are.

Another held the seat for a period of years but that person was convicted of skimming campaign money to maintain a gambling habit so he was reelected.
Nebraska sails along under the fantasy and myth that the Unicameral is superior because it is “non-partisan”. Yeah, right. The state senators run as republican or democrat.
