Anyone wanting to speak to the president must stop by her desk first. Leah Katz-Hernandez, 27, is the new White House receptionist.
She is also deaf.
Its a fantastic opportunity and also to show that deaf people can do anything, she said through an interpreter, who is provided for her at work.
With a desk just steps away from the Oval Office, Katz-Hernandez is usually the first to greet anyone from world leaders to White House staff members who has an appointment with the president or his top-level aides. She also oversees the White House guest book and the Roosevelt Room, the West Wing meeting room, and is responsible for collecting cell phones before meetings with the president.
Hear no evil.............
By government standards, that's a productivity increase.
Much easier to increase the Fedzilla payroll if you hire people for a job they cannot do, and then also hire a "helper" to do for them the parts of the job beyond their capacity.
Might be part of their new job creation program.
“Inspiring” is not the word i would use.
Obama needs a Blind pilot for air farce one, just sayin...
So, they have to hire yet another government employee to translate for her and answer the phone when it rings...
If she can do anything, let’s see her flap her arms and fly off the roof of the Blight House.
I think blind Secret Service in wheelchairs would be great, too.
So.... how much cash is going out to 2 receptionists?
Let them eat cake, eh?
Every year I see that & every year I LOL.
Imagine the Headlines if a Republican is Elected President and he doesn’t hire this Woman.
One Job requires two People. The new Shovel Ready...
lol
It is really funny.
Some years ago, a photograph went over the wires and made it into the Fargo Forum. A blind poll watcher was hired on election day. The city-surprise-Chicago.
Just watched the video with my wife and she thought it was an early April fools joke. The idiots on that show were all bigging her up and then stated she got there based on her accomplishments. HUH, by working on the re-election for her messiah?
The best is how it now takes two people to do one job which again just shows how dumb liberals are while they like to spend our money.
Next week blind people can do anything and will be admitted to fly those drones.
The tragedy of her story is that it makes deaf people seem actually less capable than they are. This is terribly bad publicity for disabled people and their advocates, and these morons don't even seem to understand why. This plays directly into the hands of critics who claim that disabled people don't belong in the workplace because they actually make everyone else less productive.
When disabled people -- like anyone else -- perform tasks to which their talents and abilities are appropriately suited, there's no reason why they can't excel, and certainly no reason why they'd need to be followed around by handler who actually performs all of their work.
What an incredible bunch of dumbasses we have in the White House.
Finally, someone Moochelle can yell at who won’t quit.
Agree with the ‘April Fool’ idea.
Who says these clowns are not History Buffs...
Must have dreamed up this idea from
The Eunuchs that were hired as Palace and ESPECIALLY the leaders wife’s PERSONAL body guard/Man in waiting.
One such leader had all his ‘Guys’ fixed but as an extra added precaution he fitted her with a device that would sort of separate an ‘intruder’ from his private parts.
Said Leader returned and called for an inspection and as the ‘Personal Guards’ dropped trou it was discovered they were now ‘missing’ a part.
He came upon Lanceloot and he stood there proudly displaying his manhood.
As the ‘Leader’ was congratulating him he said “Speak up Lanceloot, acknowledge my good wishes to you”
M...ble...m...ble etc etc
Would you tell me and others who served to our face that our service was/is a "farce"?
Would you tell the family members of Spirit 03 that their sacrifice was a "farce"?
If not, then please don't type it out for us to read the snipe that was supposed to be "cute".
Thanks in advance.
You kind of wonder what the person who is actually doing the bulk of the work as her “interpreter” thinks about this arrangement. And what if that person became deaf? Would they hire another interpreter to act as the interpreter for the deaf interpretor to the deaf receptionist?
