The co-pilot of Germanwings Flight 9525 appears to have deliberately crashed the plane after he was left alone in the cockpit, according to a French prosecutor.
The captain was intentionally locked outside minutes before the A320 crashed into an alpine mountain ridge, French Prosecutor Brice Robin said Thursday. Co-pilot Andreas Lubitz, a 28-year-old German national, was silent throughout the plane’s descent and was alive at the point of impact, according to the prosecutor.
Mr. Robin’s conclusions are drawn from the plane’s cockpit voice recorder, recovered at the crash site in the French Alps late Tuesday and analyzed by French accident investigators on Wednesday.
The recording contains screams believed to be from passengers, once they recognized the plane was crashing.
Investigators are now exploring why Flight 9525 went into its unauthorized descent from its 38,000-foot cruising altitude with one crew member absent. The descent led to the crash about 10 minutes later.
French air accident investigators said on Wednesday they extracted information from the jet’s cockpit voice recorder. The recording contained voices and other sounds, said Rémi Jouty, director of France’s aviation accident investigation office, which is leading the probe. He added that there was no explanation yet for why the plane went down.
Germanwings, the low-fare unit of Deutsche Lufthansa AG, hasn’t disclosed the identity of the pilots....

No, I didn’t say my husband was a 28 year old when he had his stroke. If you read my post, you’ll see that I was replying to the theory that people can’t breathe normally while having a stroke. It has nothing to do with age, autopilot, or the lock on the door.
He took it off autopilot and switched it to descent. But I’m assuming he must have had to plug in coordinates or a destination, or perhaps there’s some way of faking out the system so that the system is prepared for a controlled descent - and he simply didn’t control it but let it crash.
Yes, I understand theres’s more to this than how he was breathing. I was simply addressing that issue. I’m not suggesting that he couldn’t have deliberately crashed the plane. Only that normal breathing doesn’t necessarily rule out a stroke.

Please, every German or European I’ve ever met has wanted to go to SF and have their picture taken on or near the GG Bridge, and it has nothing to do with being gay.
Besides, even if he were gay, which I doubt, that wouldn’t make him crash the plane into the side of a mountain. Especially now, since gays practically rule the universe.
I think perhaps they should be looking more closely at the passengers. The American woman who was killed along with her college age daughter, for example, was an aviation intelligence analyst. There was also one Israeli aboard. So maybe he was setting out to kill a particular person.
I’m not sure what I said that you didn’t follow, unless it was that I said pilot instead of copilot. If this was a planned jihad thing, maybe even to take out a nuke facility (why France scrambled the jets), some of the passengers may have been part of it. Just speculatin’.

Exactly why I wondered that no one did or they aren't speaking of it.
My husband had a large stroke, and he breathed normally for the first few hours. He was panic stricken, but you couldn’t tell from his breathing.
That pic looks very close to the place we stayed at a few years ago in Sausalito, looks like Cavallo Point, the hotel that was converted from an old Army base.

For some reason, as soon as they release a non-muslim name, everyone automatically rules out the possibility of terrorism. Apparently, the 100,000+ muslim converts in Germany — grown adults who have freely chosen to follow a religion of violent conquest with a fixation on aviation — are incapable of participating jihad.
That attitude makes converts incredibly valuable to the cause, IMO.
Here is my take. IF he is not a radicalized Islamic fanatic then there is the possibility that this was his version of a temper tantrum. My hunch is that he has recently faced a rejection of some kind ( i.e. has been told no.) This could be either personally or professionally. His sexual orientation only matters in the extent that it would increase his sense of entitlement and thus increase his anger at the possible rejection. In essence it is the behavior of a two year old who is told no. How dare you tell me no.... I’ll show you.
Now I am not a psychologist, but I am a nurse and a mom to four kids who has traveled the world and met many different people along the way. It is my best guess.
From cruise altitude to impact was 8 minutes.
ATC noticed altitude deviation at about 6 minutes prior to impact.
Now allow 3-4 minutes for ATC to attempt contact with pilot and failing to do so...still very early to get highly alarmed, but I'll give it to you.
We are now at 2 - 3 minutes to impact....
Do you REALLY think it even remotely possible for an ATC facility to contact a military facility, convince them it's a real problem, and then for the military to react.....all of these things in 2 to 3 minutes?????
Military involvement is not feasible.

No clues that I could see. They are angry about the reporters descending on their town. They want the facebook group closed so that their names won’t be known and they won’t be approached.
That was certainly my first reaction as well- and it may be the case, however from what we know so far Lubitz never uttered a word after the pilot left the cockpit. The mindset of the psycho/jihadist compels him to mention allah at some stage of his terrorist strike. The very purpose of an attack is to give allah credit and strike terror into the hearts of non-believers.

I agree. I’m just not sure they would tell us if he was saying hail mohammad and death to america or not....
