We have heard this sort of thing before. Reagan cant win, Ford says. Thats the 1976 version. The 1980 New York Times version, with the nearly identical headline: Ford Declares Reagan Cant Win. Ford was really quite sure of himself: Every place I go, and everything I hear, there is a growing, growing sentiment that Governor Reagan cannot win the election. New York magazine: The reason Reagan cant win. . . . Preposterous, sociologist Robert Coles wrote about the idea of a Reagan victory. The founder of this magazine worried that Reagan simply could not win in 1980, and several National Review luminaries quietly hoped that George H. W. Bush would be the nominee. There were serious, thoughtful conservatives who thought in 1980 that their best hope was to have Daniel Patrick Moynihan run as a Democrat that year, while many others were looking to ex-Democrat John Connally to carry the conservative banner on the GOP side. Things have a funny way of working out differently than expected. (And then much, much differently.)

Why should Cruz be President? Let us count the ways...
Pretty impressive...
Solicitor General of Texas from 2003 - May 2008, Cruz was the first Hispanic Solicitor General in Texas, the youngest Solicitor General in the entire country, not to mention the longest tenure in Texas history.
Partner at the law firm Morgan, Lewis & Bockius, where he led the firms U.S. Supreme Court and national appellate litigation practice.
Cruz has authored 80+ SCOTUS briefs and presented 40+ oral arguments before The Court
Cruz served as a law clerk to Chief Justice William Rehnquist. Cruz was the first Hispanic ever to clerk for a Chief Justice of the United States
Described as a superb constitutional lawyer, the mans considerable skills and laser-like focus were on display for all when he took oily reptile Eric Holder by the neck and made him
answer the damn question.
In the landmark case of District of Columbia v. Heller, Cruz assembled a coalition of 31 states in defense of the principle that the 2nd Amendment guarantees an individual right to keep and bear arms.
Cruz presented oral argument for the amici states in the companion case to Heller before the United States Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit.
In addition to his victory in Heller, Cruz has successfully defended the Ten Commandments monument on the Texas State Capitol grounds, the recitation of the Pledge of Allegiance in public schools and the majority of the 2003 Texas redistricting plan. Cruz also successfully defended, in Medellin v. Texas, the State of Texas against an attempt by the International Court of Justice to re-open the criminal convictions of 51 murderers on death row throughout the United States.

Ted Cruz is currently junior US Senator from Texas. In order to win the 2012 Republican nomination for the Senate seat vacated by Kay Bailey Hutchison, Cruz had to defeat Texas Lieutenant Governor David Dewhurst -heavily favored/backed by the DC old-guard GOP- in the Republican primary runoff. In the event, TEA Party favorite Cruz crushed Dewhurst, 57-43%...
he then beat Democrat Paul Sadler in the general election by a similar margin, 56-41. Cruz is also endorsed by the Tea Party Movement and the Republican Liberty Caucus.

Godspeed, Senator Cruz- Im all in.
Whenever this country has been dire straights a leader emerged, Cruz is the man for the times, I am like Cruz is most confident...HE WILL WIN!
He’s got another problem, an Obama fan owns TedCruz.com and it’s got “Support Obama immigration reform now” on it.
Next thing you know, the Wall Street Journal will be saying something nice about Ted Cruz.
The bottom line here - If a well known candidate like Reagan or Cruz is declared “CAN NOT WIN”, he will win in a landslide.
Go Cruz!
Even more impressive is that he was able to do it without calling him an oil reptile! LOL! That's the best description of Eric Holder that I've ever read!
Cruz will win.
Next..
I have to remember to keep this resume around for when the liberals surrounding me say Ted Cruz is too young and has no leadership experience.
If criticism of Obama is racist, as liberal types keep telling us, then isn’t criticism of Cruz also racism and ethnic bigotry? Cruz is not a white male. He is a.member of an official grievance group, Hispanics. So based on liberals own criteria, any criticism of Cruz must be bigoted and hateful.
I’m seeing that image a lot. It’s pretty cool. Is there any way for you to fix the spelling of RINO, though? It’s a pretty embarrassing typo.
I’ll be having dinner with him Friday night. I’ll tell him we think he can win.
I believe his chances improve every time the Republican congress caves, or passes liberal legislation. I think this next election is really going to be about change.
Ah, I see that the typo isn’t yours, it’s Sabo’s. Never mind. :-)
That’s pretty cool.
For him:
I can do all things through him who strengthens me. ~ Philippians 4:13
That was in March 1980. It could have taken a while for voters to realize how hopeless Carter was.
