Lately, conservative pundits like Glenn Beck and Hugh Hewitt have been questioning why America seems so apathetic about ISIS. Beck says Americans don’t realize how serious Islamic terrorism has become; we are on the verge of World War III.

ISIS largely kills muslims. That doesn’t bother me. The asswipe in the White House isn’t going to do anything anyway so let ISIS murder muslims for 22 more months and then let president Cruz/Walker/Rubio destroy them.

ISIS is in effect the Islamic counter reformation coupled with the ancient sunni/shia animosity overlain by the politics of wealth and territorial control.
The emergence of modern technology coupled with explosive growth of populations and economies forced the evolution of Islam. To the ultra conservatives both shia and sunni, that became intolerable. ISIL or Daiish is the misguided attempt to reverse that change, to undo the evolution.
Time and blood in the streets are the only remedy.

Actually half the population is barely literate and dependent on government and doesn’t care about anything except their government checks, sex, reality television, and sports. Unless the barbarians are at the gates, threatening to cut off the gravy, they don’t care about what is happening in the rest of the world.
The other half of the population is burned out working to support the non producers. Unless the barbarians are at the gate threatening their lives they don’t have the time or energy to care.
One advantage of our geographic location, is our population is not at risk from land based armies and fighting in other parts of the world. As long as airliners aren’t crashing into buildings, or being blown from the skies, most Americans feel safe from foreign threats.
As to the few who do care, they have no political power. Obama is going to do nothing about Islamic terrorists in general, or Isis specifically. The Republican Congress is not going to fight Obama. Hence, even if you care, why spend time and energy tilting at windmills?
They kill quite a few Christians as well. They are despicable and should not be dismissed.

I mentioned on FR a couple of weeks ago a dinner conversation with family and friends wherein when I mentioned the problem in Britain with the musloids everyone mumbled something and put their face down in their plates. Almost in sync. The entire conversation revolved around entertainment. TV shows, movies, celebrities. I remember, even as a kid, sitting around the dinner table talking about what was going on in the world. Then again, my Dad was a news junkie and imbued in me a love of history. Unfortunately I do believe we have become far more ignorant as a society.
