On Sunday, Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX), who is expected to be the first candidate to formally enter the 2016 campaign on Monday at Liberty University, called on courageous conservatives to help take back the country from elites who place their faith in government instead of the American people.
Appearing on Breitbart News Sunday on Sirius XM Patriot channel 125, Cruz told host and Breitbart News Executive Chairman Stephen K. Bannon that Democrats like Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama believe in government more than the American people.
They believe that elites in Washington can govern every aspect of our life, Washington knows better and it needs to control the economyit needs to control every basic detail of our lives, he said.
In contrast, Cruz, whom the late Andrew Breitbart viewed as the future of the conservative movement, said, I believe in the Constitution. I believe in the unlimited potential of free men and free women.
He said the miracle of America is that we have been a land for centuries where millions of people have come from all over the world with nothing and have been able to achieve anything. Cruz added that we need to reignite the promise of America and there is an incredible potential to do so if courageous conservatives will simply stand up.
I am convinced that courageous conservatives coming together can bring us back to the free-market principles and constitutional liberties that this country was founded on, Cruz said.
When Bannon asked the Texas Senatorwho has taken heat from the D.C. establishment for not wavering from his conservative principles, especially in his opposition to amnesty for illegal immigrants and Obamacarehow someone who graduated from Harvard and Princeton can resonate like he does with working-class Americans, Cruz said it is because he always remembers where he camefrom.

Love him. But he better go positive about conservatism and America.
Cruz is the man and he has my vote.
Mine, too.
I’ll write him in, if necessary. I’ve asked him to go 3rd party, too.
IMO: Going 3ird party is throwing your vote away, but to each their own... (sighhhh)
I hope so. I'm certainly going to do all can to support Cruz and find out.
That’s one thing in our election process THAT HAS TO BE CHANGED,THESE RIGGED DEBATES RUN BY THE LEFT WING LOONS OF THE LEAGUE OF WOMEN VOTERS! Enough of that crowd, time for debates to be moderated by Rush Limbaugh ,Mark Levin, and that is no different than having them moderated by George Stepanopoulos,Candy Crowley or Wolf Blitzer.
I have serious questions about him. But I would support him if he wins the nomination.

Time for Cruz supporters (He's my first choice) to put up or shut up - he's worth every penny....
Ted Cruz. Period. Accept No Substitutes.
The former is no longer the case and the latter has never been true. She is said to be a "managing director" at the Houston office, which isn't anywhere close to being a board member.
Your anti-Cruz rant takes facts completely out of context.
Heidi Cruz worked for Condoleeza Rice and as a result was appointed a ***temporary*** membership in CFR. Many fine people have transitioned in and out of CFR as members. Here’s what Senator Cruz has to say about CFR:
He says CFR is a “Pit of Vipers”.
As for Heidi Cruz being a Board Member of GS, that is a lie.
She was a VP of Private Wealth Management and the title ‘VP’ signified her paygrade not her position of authority.
VP in a wealth or asset management firm is just a title that, for the most part, determines her salary. It doesn’t mean she’s one of the higher-up exec’s; far from it. She’s a mid-level employee.
When a person graduates from the Ivy League and goes to work in the Northeast financial centers, it is natural to interview with the top firms such as GS. Thousands of good people work for GS. It’s the mobsters at the very top that are of concern, not mid-level employees.
As for Ted Cruz being a proponent of H1B Visas, you also have taken that out of context. The context of his support for H1B has been set right many times here on FR.
There is nothing wrong with having quotas for H1B Visas for the right kind of scientific talent. And that is what Senator Cruz supports. He is not advocating opening the floodgates to technological worker bees. He is advocating attracting top talent of very high IQ persons that can benefit America in addition to what we already grow at home.
America has some of the world’s top talent on H1B Visas living among other Americas of top talent. They are professors at universities or talent recruited by scientific centers and companies. They need to renew their H1B Visas periodically and that is the reason for the quotas.
No different that recruiting for a professional sports team, recruiters will span the globe looking for unique talent and they will petition Congress for special status favors to retain such talent. Nothing wrong in that and in fact it benefits America.
” Calling all conservatives:
For those of you frustrated with the lack of options last time around, even to the point that some of you stayed home on election day; here is your chance to support a real conservative.
Ted Cruz is principled and actually has a pair.”
Please allow me a slight change....
Calling all C O N S E R V A T I V E S !!!!
As one of the first to endorse Cruz here, I’m all in for Cruz.
Woo Hoo!!!
Go, Ted, Go!!!
I’m making a donation today.
Ted Cruz has my vote and my support!
I’m making inquiries this week to see if I can work for him.
Wonderful. He is a true conservative!!
We need to all do what we can. I think I will request yard signs. Is it too early?
I don’t know about the signs rule. If I manage to go to work for him, I will endeavor to keep us up on all the goings on, and rules. This is going to require a grass roots campaign to beat ALL previous grass roots campaigns!
Me, too.
We must prepare for all opponents ... the DemoNazis, the news media and the GOP Establishment. The Good Ole Boys will be eager to kill any conservative.
Take a Cruz from Texas to DC.
So did Henry Clay Frick, one of the most hated men in American history. (Ever hear someone call another guy a "frick"? )
Union-busting is a RiNO sacrament, not a conservative one. Ronald Reagan and Barry Goldwater both invited and welcomed the votes of the "hard hats", a.k.a. "Reagan Democrats", so many of whom were union members.
The point that Walker went up against the abusive, thuggish SEIU is good in itself but does NOT predict Walker's siding with the Tea Party and Reaganauts against the GOP-e.
Walker's standing up to the "Left superstructure" is a good sign of character and courage, but it isn't at all a sign that he agrees with conservatives about any social issues, against the pro-abort gay lesbian energy- and meat-hating Communist Left.
Walker has proved that he's an "economic conservative", the kind that tries to appease Wall Street by excluding social issues from his platform, never mind that the GOP has endorsed conservative positions on an array of these issues.
