Ben Carson, a retired neurosurgeon and presidential hopeful, recently apologized for a statement in which he said being gay is "absolutely" a choice.
In an interview on CNN, the potential 2016 Republican presidential candidate commented that "a lot of people who go into prison, go into prison straight, and when they come out they're gay, so did something happen while they were in there? Ask yourself that question."

"Naturally" occurring homosexuality is not normal, like being born with a heart defect occurs naturally but is not normal.

I strongly disagree. The concept that homosexuality is not a choice and that these people do not have free will is both dishonest and dangerous.
The whole reason for this phony “science”, which has no basis in genetics, is to make homosexuals a victim class who are to be given special rights and taxpayer money.
It is also used to claim that homosexuals are not responsible for their actions. It is also used to endorse homosexuals’ attacks on people of faith and to encourage them to sue and bankrupt sincere and moral Christians.
That is what is really going on.
And Ben Carson should be praised for speaking the truth and braving the attacks by the MSM.
I believe that a vast majority of homos are born that way. I have worked with plenty of them.
You want to say it is a private thing unfortunately it doesn’t stay that way, not matter how much you might think so.

My husband’s nephew is gay. We knew he was probably going to be gay before he was four years old. Great family, super nice guy but he was always on the girly side even from toddler years.

Often homosexuals were “introduced” to it at a young age by a “mentor” (aka; molester). So in that sense I guess you can say it wasn’t a choice for the molested kid; it was a choice for the molester though.
Having a physical urge to mate with every beautiful woman I’ve seen in the last 35 years is something I was born with. Staying true to my wife is a choice that I make every day.
Carson was close with the prison analogy, but it came out all wrong.
Straight men don’t come out of prison homosexual. They engage in homsexual activity in spite of being hetero, while they’re in prison. It’s a clear case of straight men choosing homosexual sodomy, which is entirely relevant in a nature-vs-nurture debate.
Once you factually establish that men attracted to women do have sex with men, by choice, under certain conditions, you move on to other conditions where straight men might do the same... and the Born This Way lie begins to unravel.
When they insist that sexual attraction is genetic and predetermined, ask them if that applies to those who are attracted to children as well (and be prepared to calmly defend yourself against charges of comparing homosexuals to pedophiles).
Sometime I wonder if we have just traded one tribe of savages for another.
