Could the leaders in Washington please tell us which rules we are allowed to not follow? Please? This is getting confusing for the average American.
Since 2005, the United States State Department has had very clear rules that employees cannot use personal email for official business. In 2011, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton sent out an internal directive reminding State Department employees that they could not use personal email addresses for government business. Likewise, she removed a United States Ambassador for using personal email for government work.
Now we are learning that prior to becoming Secretary of State in 2009, Hillary Clinton set up a personal email server in her home. She used that email address for all of her government business and her personal business. She helped plan her daughter's wedding with that email address. She received important State Department communications with that email address. For six years, she violated State Department policy.
But it is not just State Department policy over which others lost their jobs. Federal law requires that all her government emails be archived. From what we know so far, it appears she did not archive all her emails.
Last Wednesday night, less than a half-hour before midnight after reporter deadlines and as a winter storm approached Washington and New York, Hillary Clinton Tweeted out that she wanted the State Department to release all her emails. Mrs. Clinton first had to submit her emails to the State Department. She has not made clear if she handed over every single document, and there is no way anyone can believe her without an independent review.
Before Ken Starr, before Monica Lewinsky, before Bill Clinton's impeachment, before all that, another outside independent counsel accused then first lady Hillary Clinton of violating rules and abusing her position as first lady. Time and again Hillary Clinton has acted as if the rules do not apply to her.
It is not just emails though. The Clintons have profited off both Mrs. Clinton's status as Secretary of State and Bill Clinton's status as former president. The Clinton Foundation received an extraordinary amount of foreign gifts. What we may soon also see is that Mr. Clinton was useful to friends and corporations while his wife served as Secretary of State.
Color me unsurprised if next we hear that Mr. Clinton visited foreign leaders and politely put corporations on their radar that had business in those countries. The rumors have already started on that front, but there is no telling if they will pan out. Unfortunately, given the Clintons' other antics, it would not be surprising.
For years, Bill and Hillary Clinton have had financial anorexia. They stand in front of a mirror and see themselves as poor even with their wealth rapidly accumulating. They are in a party with others named Rockefeller, Kohl, Heinz-Kerry and Kennedy. These Democrats inherited wealth or married into wealth. Bill and Hillary Clinton were always behind. They had to do something to get ahead. So they simply ignored rules or decided the rules did not apply to them.
All of their rule breaking and waving is catching up to them now. On the emails, their contents are not nearly as important as who read them. A home server, regardless of the protocols used, will not be nearly as secure as the government server.
We know a bit about Mrs. Clinton's emails because of a hacker. What did China know? Or Russia? Or al-Qaida? Her own arrogance and vanity have put the national security of the nation at risk.
The most interesting angle, however, may be political. Did the White House never send Mrs. Clinton emails? Surely they had to know she was not using a State Department email. Thus far, though, every indication is that the White House did not know. It makes you wonder if the competitive rivalry between Team Clinton and Team Obama compelled Mrs. Clinton to separate herself as much as she could from the Obama White House. Now it will come back to haunt her.
“When Do Rules Not Apply?”
When your last name is Clinton
When they get in the way of The Cause.
We are no longer a nation of laws except for average citizens with no wealth or political power. Look at the actions taken against political criminals for the last 20 years. Except for a few minor exceptions hardly anyone goes to prison or gets kicked out of office for corruption. When two presidents, who should have been removed are left in office, everyone below them thinks they’ll get a pass and they do.
An investigator could make a living on just looking into members of congress who come into office with low level assets and leave multi-millionaires or who’s support for legs;at ion enriches their spouses or other family members.
We don’t need no stinkin rules.
I seem to recall reading that their "foundation" is worth over a billion dollars? And what is their "foundation" about, anyway--from the outside, it looks like a money-laundering scheme.
Surely they had to know she was not using a State Department email. Thus far, though, every indication is that the White House did not know.
Maybe she set up her private server with a ".gov" domain name.
I know that on government email systems, you do not actually see the email address most of the time. Instead of the email address, you see a hyperlink containing the person's name and limited information (such as rank and organization). If she set up her private email correctly, that is all anyone would see. However, I do not know how she would get her private email address into an official address book so that people who have not already received email from her could send her email.
Also when you are a rat politician
A given.
But other pertinent questions arise.
Could her emails be permanently deleted from her brew server? Can it be determined that some were? (an IT would know)
Was her home brew server being used as a access point for draft emails that were never sent but people with passwords could view?
Who else besides her used her server and why? It was reported last night that there were multiple email addresses listed for the home server - why and for what purpose?
Who else was aware that she was not using a government server to send and receive email?
This is just the tip of the iceberg. It's hard for me to see how she skates on this one. If Fauxahontas shows the slight bit of interest, Shrillary is done.
Don’t forget the message-drop possibility.
Compose an e-mail on an account but don’t send it, leaving it as a draft. The recipient knows the log-in for that particular e-mail account, reads the message and responds in the draft.
Recipient’s computer keeps almost no record. Server operator can delete draft message with almost no trace. No record of e-mail sent or received.
State Department IT guys had to be in on it.
The average government worker sees how easy it is for the government big shots to run roughshod over the Taxpayers, so then they start doing it.
“Kneel! Kneel before your government employee masters you filthy Taxpayers! Bring them fragrant offerings of bribes and bonuses lest you incur their wrath and they use their regulations to smite you!”
There’s a recent picture of her in a chair aboard a C-17 military plane making the news.
That four seat pallet with desk was one of the very last projects of my career. Nancy Pelosi called my General before congress and tried to rape him over this project. It would be justice and ironic for me knowing her fat ass loses her career over this and I have a memorial picture to remember her by. The taste of her tears will be sweet. This is very much criminal what she did. I had to go to security briefings quarterly on this same subject. She did everything possible to defeat operational security.
ping
Absolutely. I listed that possibility as I read about that last night.
Isn’t this scheme also a form of “dead-drop”?
A scheme used by a spy to send info to another?
WH emails may have siphoned through Mills and Blumenthal.

Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano doesnt believe in using email.
I think email just sucks up time, Napolitano told an incredulous group of reporters on Tuesday, speaking at a breakfast hosted by The Christian Science Monitor.
Napolitano, who said she doesnt text or Twitter either, said she may use email at some point, but right now, its not in the cards.
In many respects, in a job like mine, its inefficient, Napolitano said, noting that she is briefed by staff frequently and prefers to use the phone for much of her work. I stopped using email when I was attorney general of Arizona. I was like, Why am I spending my time scrolling through this?

I’m absolutely SERIOUS when I say that most lefties believe in the elitehood of their leaders
to the point they believe they SHOULD be able to skirt the law that needs to be applied to everyone else.
Their elite leaders, after all, are so intellectually and morally superior that they have to be allowed the flexibility necessary to help everyone. And that has to include exemption from the law.

apparently personal email was used to write drafts....

WATCHING THE CLINTONS OPERATE IS A LESSON IN NARCISSTIC IMMUNITY They operate under the mantle of "narcisstic immunity"---that they are so great, nothing can touch them.
Every move they make is laser-focused on political "survival". The Clintons have the survival instincts of a cockroach---once they infest your domain---its almost impossible to get rid of them.
They are driven by greed-----salivating to get back into office....thoughts of adding billions to their massive holdings dancing in their greedy heads.
