The lawsuit brought against the state claims sheriffs are faced with a "crisis of conscience"
A group of sheriffs will file a lawsuit Thursday against Colorado for its legal marijuana law.
The lawsuit says legalizing pot on a state level while its still illegal on a federal one creates a crisis of conscience, USA Today reports.
Colorado is asking every peace officer to violate their oath, Larimer County, Colo., Sheriff Justin Smith, the lead plaintiff in the suit, said. What were being forced to do

“Which constitution are we supposed to uphold?”
The one that signs your paycheck, and the one that you look out the window and see. You aren’t US government workers. You are State of Colorado.
If you are so serious about your US Constitutional duty, howzabout arresting some DOJ fast and furious types, some IRS political retribution types, some Hillary personal email law violation, some Obama election fraud charges next time he shows up?
Law enforcement is a bad source to tell us what the law should be. They would find unlimited search and seizure, universal wiretapping, unlimited roadblocks, curfews, and many other things useful too. Their convenience isn’t the thing that matters.
You keep bringing up productivity, so I’m wondering how it relates?
You want to continue to pour billions into the coffers of the cartels, fill our prisons and destroy the Constitution in a pointless effort to stop drug use and I’m naive?
“I do not think that word means what you think it means”
Really? Who? Please name a few you speak for. And you should stop assuming.
Post of the day! Everybody get stoned!
I could discuss it with you. But when someone equates tobacco and alcohol as equal to sugar and snow skiing, then I realize I’m arguing with an idiot.
Pointless to go any further. You want to “be consistent”? Grow up first.
Intoxicated driving by stoners is up at least 30%.

Crime to support the stoners is up.
Six Months After Legalizing Marijuana, Two Big Things Have Happened in Colorado - http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/news/3175168/posts: According to government data, the Denver city- and county-wide murder rate has dropped 52.9% since recreational marijuana use was legalized [...] major property crimes are down 11.5% compared to the same period in 2013.
On the plus side, Meridol
That's "Marinol."
is being made into the publics awareness and provides a stake in the heart of the medical fraud of pot use.
Marinol contains only one of marijuana's active ingredients - and according to its makers has peak effect at 2 to 4 hours ... so unlike the rapid-onset inhaled marijuana it can't be titrated to the minimum dose needed for current symptoms

What’s all this talk about bakers being forced to bake gay wedding cakes with pot in them?
ROTFL! YOU first mentioned it, in post #48. What's causing your short-term memory loss?
I’m all grown up and I don’t need to resort to name calling. I see you’ve run out of ammunition which is why ad hominem is all you’ve got.
LOL! The Reefer Madness brigade can't make a case for the War on Pot, so they're frantically and comically trying to tie it to anything else: gay marriage, opium ... you name it.
Drugs are illegal for a reason but not for what you may think.
And not supporting legal drugs does not make a Communist as you have
insinuated in many posts. We are a nation of laws that keep our society
free. Yea I
said it, just as I also know that War keeps us free also.
Freedom isn't a suicide pact, neither is the Constitution.
And Drugs are anti-freedom, anti-American.
Wrong as usual - I pointed out that it's an argument against legal pot only if an individual's productivity is not his to diminish if he chooses. You have yet to explain how anyone other than a communist can disagree that an individual's productivity is his own - I wonder why you keep refusing to explain that.
Yes, per the Tenth Amendment. Those areas, as well as intrastate marijuana regulation, properly belong to the states. Do you agree with Ted Cruz and me on that?
Rightful liberty is unobstructed action according to our will within limits drawn around us by the equal rights of others. I do not add 'within the limits of the law' because law is often but the tyrant's will, and always so when it violates the rights of the individual. Thomas Jefferson
They're heeeere!
For some reason, I am just not getting through to you. Perhaps I should try smoke signals next. What is it that you don't understand about LEGAL DRUG DEALERS GETTING ENRICHED by LEGAL DRUGS? Prison's will get filled even more, and constitutional destruction will occur faster.
Here, i'll put up the emblem of the British East India company again. Maybe after seeing it several times, it will finally sink in that legalization will STILL ENRICH DRUG DEALERS, and the other consequences to which you object will be even worse.
This is not even debatable. We've seen what happened when drugs were legalized in China, and it caused the most horrible mass death and destruction in history! And you think the problems we are facing now are bad? How is the fire an improvement over the frying pan?
“Urban legend - you’d have to be locked in a steamer trunk with pot smoker to get a second-hand high.”
Well now, sounds like you two are two peas in a pod in the avid recreational pot smokers group. Are you personally justifying your dirty actions? Now, I can totally understand the use of it medically. But doing it for the “fun of it”? Well you just go on abusing yourself. Can’t be strong enough and adult enough to live without it? How unfortunate for you.
Kids can and DO get high from habitual pot smokers. Years ago, my neighbor had CDC pull their two children out of their home because their kids were high as a kite when they arrived at their elementary school one day. No, they were good kids, and yes and hated the junk.
Even if kids don’t get high the chemicals are bad. Really bad. Mentally stunting bad. There are plenty of studies covering the harmful affects of second hand marijuana smoke on children and adults. High or no high this crap is particularly nasty for kids.
Yep, people live in a bubble I tell yah. My sh!t doesn’t stink! Etc, etc. Typical libertarian clap trap.
“As I clearly indicated, drug users should be held accountable for their actions. If they are narcotizing others, they should be held to account for such actions.”
Should? Were you away on a tropical deserted island when they passed this law in this state? The dingbat voters in the state approved the law without a damned fool’s idea how to enforce it. It took the state nearly a year just to address the DWI problem. And that’s assuming you can enforce large-scale “accountability” regardless.
Hell, they can’t even prevent the ever-flowing Mexican weed here. Laws are worthless if they can’t be enforced.
And that’s why the sheriffs are pissed. They are told by the state that state laws supersede federal law, but case after case after case that winds up at the door of SCROTUS, they’ve ruled the reverse. SCROTUS just did so again in 2005.
And what do sheriffs do on federal land? They’ve been told by the feds they have to enforce it with or without the state’s blessings. And let’s not talk about weed from Mexico. How is a sheriff supposed to enforce this? It’s not like there’s a label on it. It’s not like they can demand an explanation when people are allowed to grow it themselves. Do you see how damned silly this is???
How stupid the libertarians really are in this state. Libertarians = pot heads. Thanks guys. You’ve wrecked what used to be a wonderful state.
I would say so. Anyone that thinks Wikipedia is biased against illegal drugs is not a serious person.
A more likely explanation is you absolutely have no rebuttal to the fact that massive and legal drug imports kept coming into China, and destroyed that nation.
When the facts don't support your theory, it is the facts that must be thrown out. That's is your arguing methodology.
