A South Florida man charged with growing marijuana he claims he needs for a medical condition was found not guilty Monday.
Jesse Teplicki, 50, had been charged with manufacturing cannabis and was facing up to five years behind bars.
"This case is about medical marijuana and for the hundreds of thousands of patients who can use this medicine as an alternative," Teplicki said.
It took jurors just 30 minutes to return the verdict.

If you were to buy carrots, how many plants would you buy?
How about asparagus?
Brussel sprouts?
Okra?
I buy a couple of frozen bags - each containing meat from dozens of plants.
Nothwithstanding the number of plants, pot is illegal and veggies aren’t.
First off I do NOT like or use mind altering drugs, including alcohol.
With that said I used to support the WOD... BIG MISTAKE!
I now know that the War on ‘Drugs’ was and still is a a ‘Gateway Law’ or legislation that has eviscerated a major portion of the bill of rights and the first ten amendments to the constitution.
The War on Drugs legislation left America and it’s citizens open to the “War on Terrorism” and the terrible legislation that followed it.
So now a days we have ‘civil forfeiture’ for having too much cash, theft of homes and property for having ‘drugs’ on it or being used by people there. We all know or of heard of unscrupulous law ‘enforcement’ planting ‘evidence’ and stealing cars, homes... ranches, even whole small businesses have been wiped out by these tactics.
So to make a long post shorter let’s just say that I approve of this Jury nullification and hope that many, many more follow in it’s tracks.
I’ve seen the movie PineApple Express and know what’s needed for personal use and for sale ;)
My best friend needed a liver transplant several years ago. This was a debilitating medical condition, both before and after the operation. He spent many years on disability. Before he became ill he was an excellent engineer and in the top 5%, maybe higher, of wage earners.
Afterwards, he was poor. Grinding, life-sucking poverty. He did not use, or need medical marijuana for his condition. But I would never question the decision of a very ill person to grow a little extra so as to relieve both the symptoms of the disease and his financial needs.
What good does it do to help relieve the physical pain if we leave the patient in poverty? There are no cartels, no DOJ gun-smuggling operations, and no real harm to the US. Give him a little room to both relieve his pain and take care of his other needs.
I applaud the jury decision.
If you watched a Cheech & Chong movie you'd know 56 plants is about one day's stock.
There is attempting to keep people from violating the rights of others, such as prohibiting rape and murder, and there is attempting to control people for their own good. There is nothing incompatible between liberty and prohibiting people from violating the rights of others. The other, not so much.
Hmm.. A better option for the jury would have been to find him not guilty on the marijuana charges, but slap him with a fine for lying to the court. 46 plants is not one person’s medi-marijuana stash. No possible way.
Yes, it is ... or do you have information to the contrary?
Nicely put!
I remember Florida....Anywhere anyone stopped to clean seeds out of their weed and threw them on the ground, you’d find a patch of weed.
The curious part of your response is that you’re actually serious.

Ah, a n00b pothead who seriesly (sic) thinks he can win an argument on dope.
Good post
You’ve posted highly subjective talking points. The only thing stupider than smoking dope is arguing with potheads online. Have a good one, bro.
