Hmm.. A better option for the jury would have been to find him not guilty on the marijuana charges, but slap him with a fine for lying to the court. 46 plants is not one person’s medi-marijuana stash. No possible way.

A professional grower can get an ounce a plant - average. Amateurs are looking at .25-.5 and ounce. So, if we assume a rough mid-point, the odds are that his crop would’ve produced about 23 ounces of cannabis.

The state of Arizona says that 2.5 ounces a week is reasonable for personal, medical use. That means that he would’ve made enough product to medicate himself for about nine weeks. To grow a quality, medical-grade marijuana takes about four months. Assuming that he was using half of what Arizona allows, then he was growing exactly enough to get him through until the next harvest.

I have a huge freezer and a 11x13 storage room/pantry. I buy everything in bulk and stock up for rainy days.
