David Petraeus, the well-known retired U.S. Army general and CIA director, has nearly reached a plea deal with the Department of Justice, The New York Times reported Tuesday.
After leading two wars, Petraeus was accused of sharing classified information with biographer and mistress, Paula Broadwell.
Story Continued Below
The deal would save Petraeus from the scrutiny of a public trial where details of his personal life would be made public.
Details of the deal have not yet been made public.

Rather than put his family through hell, he passed. I look at the plea as a confession to dishonor, rather than an actual crime itself.

The mere
sight of a woman's private parts has turned the brains of many a man into oatmeal throughout history. The reverse, not so much.
It doesn't seem fair, but that's the way it is.

Obama trumping it up.
It is a mistake for conservatives, or at least non-psycho lefties, to participate in Obama’s administration out of a belief in service to the country.
The admin will destroy them, even try to jail them, after their usefulness to them is over.

Petraeus should let it all hang out... no deal...
It gives him voice. They'll still be trashing his life but he can counter by exposing their tactics. If Petaeus makes a deal every damaging detail will be leaked anyhow... and New York Times types won't give up sources ... AND he'll still have to fear the 'next' leak...
Trashed either way... one way he's got a voice. One way he takes away the power they have over him.

He probably wants to continue to live is why he is keeping his mouth shut.
