Conversations about reparations are not about money but about people and about the way that people are seen and valued in our society. These are difficult conversations, and we have found that what is most challenging about the idea of reparations today is the notion that America still owes a debt to black people..
We have spent the past eight months wrestling with the question about whether reparations as Ta-Nehisi Coates so eloquently argued could ameliorate inequality for black people in America. We believe that the answer to this question is connected to how well one can understand the structures, practices and norms that created the intentional and unintentional persistent pattern of inequality.
Because racism was institutionalized in the fabric of American society, it must be fought on multiple fronts education, housing, employment, health, the criminal system and the criminalization of the black male body and at various levels through community organizing, legislation, political representation, resource allocation and judicial advocacy. Reparations granted at the individual level would have little to no impact on the removal of institutional and structural barriers to make our society more just and free for black people. Reparations also cannot mandate changes in the norms of society that privilege certain groups in professional and recreational communities, or enforce a change in the biases and prejudicial views of others. They also cannot erase the double consciousness many black people juggle in a society that has yet to realize the provision of equal access to "life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness" for all....

Its all about the money, stupid.
Better yet, people who aren’t happy here, we give them a set sum of money to renew their lives elsewhere on condition they permanently forfeit US citizenship and its attendant benefits.
Cheaper than welfare and a heck of a lot of cheaper than reparations.
If you can’t love this country, leave it! Your continued presence here isn’t doing any one good.
We should have picked our cotton but, 600,000 dead people isn’t enough.
We could pay them each with 1,000 gold bars and it’d never be enough.
Face it: we gave you running water, indoor plumbing, abundant food, HVAC and the world’s best medical care at anytime, anywhere.
Contrast that with the Shiite hole countries of your ancestors.
Today, their progeny live in abject poverty, with some weirdo broad, by name of Sally Struthers as their representative voice.
Why?
Effing Africans can’t do anything for themselves?
Since when?
Africans don’t complain and they don’t have entitlement envy.
American blacks got a far better deal than their ancestors did.
They refuse to accept our values and be American. And demanding someone you don’t love pay you for your not loving them is adding insult to injury.
American blacks have a self-esteem problem no amount of money will solve. A chronically unhappy person’s character never improves with their lot in life.
They need to heal themselves. Others cannot and should not - do that for them.

This is quite a blackmail scheme. Do we get all the evidence when we pay up? Does pain and suffering go all the way back to the slavers in Kenya? How much does Obama owe? Are the extortioners going to pack up their goodies, and go home when the blackmail is paid?
There is no amount that will ever be satisfactory to blacks. You could give every black person in America $1 million and in a year there would be cries for more because it didn’t solve all their problems. This ‘debt’ will never be repaid because it can not be repaid. You can not undo the past.
What promised reparations?
You forgot enriching the Arab/Islamic slave lords.
If they want reparations let them sue the Democrats aka the party of slavery.
Some nonsense about General Sherman, which he did not promise anyone.
No one promised them anything.
There is a long of persons who have suffered injustices. They can get in line with them if they want.
Its a long wait.
Neverpromised’anything.
Send em all back.
Makers vs Takers. It’s coming.
Something about forty acres and a mule.
But when given access to resources to bring wealth, jobs and opportunity to their communities, their organizers first reaction is to loot it and burn it down.
Its not lack of access or lack of satisfaction of material wants that’s the real problem facing Black America.
The entire issue of reparations is phony.
Envy...
“$22 trillion, all for naught.”
And a civil war. Screw them... “reparations” were made long ago.
Ia am all for repatriation for African Americans. I’ll donate 100 dollars for their cause.
Let’s at least give them one donkey a piece to remind them of what jackasses they are after all these years of welfare, freebies and affirmative action. We are not only even, we should be asking them for reparations.
