You're not the biggest fan of winter... unless we're talking warm, tropical winters without a touch of snow. You're a bit more solar powered than most folks. Your best days start with a good dose of sunshine! |

LOL only 16% here! I wonder how the results would differ if I took this “quiz” in the heat and humidity of July!

His Choice
When our children were small, I often prayed with them after we tucked them into bed. But before I prayed, I sometimes would sit on the edge of the bed and talk with them. I remember telling our daughter Libby, If I could line up all the 4-year-old girls in the world, I would walk down the line looking for you. After going through the entire line, I would choose you to be my daughter. That always put a big smile on Libbys face because she knew she was special.
If that was a smile-worthy moment for her, think of the grace-filled fact that the Creator-God of the universe from the beginning chose you for salvation (2 Thess. 2:13). Before time began, He desired to make you His own. This is why Scripture often uses the picture of adoption to communicate the amazing reality that, through no merit or worthiness of our own, we have been chosen by Him.
This is stunning news! We are beloved by the Lord (v.13) and enjoy the benefits of being part of His family. This glorious truth should fill our lives with humility and gratitude. Now may our Lord Jesus Christ Himself, and our God and Father, who has loved us . . . establish you in every good word and work (vv.16-17).
I will be forever grateful that I am Your child,
Father, and that You love me! Teach me to remember
all the benefits of belonging to You, and may I
serve You faithfully as part of Your family.
Its Gods choice to love you and to make you part of His family.
: In Pauls first letter to the Thessalonians, he assured the believers that they were loved by God and chosen (1:4 niv). In todays reading, Paul reiterates this by saying, God from the beginning chose you for salvation (v.13). That God chooses people is taught in Scripture (Deut. 7:6-8; Isa. 44:1-2; Rom. 8:28-33; 9:11; Eph. 1:4-6,11; Titus 1:1; 1 Peter 1:1-2). Although a person is chosen before the creation of the world (Eph. 1:4-5; 2 Tim. 1:9), this becomes evident in life when one believes in the Lord Jesus Christ (2 Thess. 2:13-14).

Most of those don't apply to me in my life now. I loved winter as a kid. I dread the snow now because I can't do it all myself and have to find somebody plus I don't go much and have to run my car every few days to keep the battery charged although I do have a battery pack which is not hard to use now.
My furnace is not able to keep up. When it gets to the single digits, it lags at least 4 degrees behind, sometimes more. It returns to normal in the 20's. My house is very drafty because of problems; I have storm windows on but some are stuck on the screens, one is broken and a couple lost.
I must say, the last we had about 13 inches of snow, I think it was the most beautiful one I've seen in my life the way it stuck to the trees for 3 days or more.
They do temps by wind chill now and it has been bitterly cold too many days but not as bad as some in the past and when I was a kid. I have to think I do not know how I would cope if I lived out east where they have gotten socked repeatedly, never saw anything like that, especially some photos I looked up on google images and saw Boston and New York. One assisted living facility, one-storey, had drifts up to the eaves and National Guardsmen shoveling snow off the roof. I don't know if they moved the residents or not. The entrance was snowed in.

You like winter, but you have usually had enough of it by the time spring comes around! You like the cold in small doses. You're probably the type who enjoys a bit of snow, as long as it isn't too much of a hassle. And it melts overnight. AND you don't have to drive in it!
Your favorite thing is hot tea and a biscuit on a cold morning....and sleeping late. |
