Maybe he meant the special forces of the midnight shift at McDonalds.
What an idiot, more Stolen Valor from the Regime.
Uh oh.
Maybe the “everybody lies about their military service” meme will work this time.
They all like to feel “Special” in one or another “Force”!
West Point, eh?
“We will not lie, cheat nor steal, nor tolerate those among us who do.”
Back in the 70s I believe Airborne was considered one of the ‘special forces’.
He served under General Brian Williams.
I could see someone who served in the 82nd as thinking they were a member of an elite outfit. They are, aren’t they?
For some reason, my Father who was a combat veteran of WWII, hated the 82nd. On the other hand he just about worshiped Rangers.
One day I asked him about it and he just said they were trained to fight their own people. I knew that wasn’t really true but did not feel like pushing it.
My MEU was SOC qualified. Does that make me an “operator”?
The list, Ping
Let me know if you would like to be on or off the ping list
82nd Airborne is pretty prestigious unit, although I wouldn’t put it on the same level as Green Berets or Rangers.
I had the honor and privilege of supporting a training exercise that involved Delta Force. Very professional and damn deadly.
Not technically true but of all the lies about service and experience from this administration and its supporters in the media this is small potatoes. I’m more worried about his lie that he fired 60 people. Let’s keep our eye on the ball here.
Borrowed valor.
I’ve (who has a CIB) has always said that one can exaggerate one’s war-time exploits by, about, 15%.
But, the trick is, one had to at least been there.
I think he meant he rode the “special” bus.
Is he transgendered? They can’t touch him if he’s transgendered. And who would want to?
My mom was an operator. I always laugh when commandos started calling themselves that. Now commando means wearing no panties, and the men are calling themselves “operators”
Those groups of special forces are so tight together and not many of them, anyone would be a fool to try to claim membership in one of those groups. Much too easy to be found out.
I am not in special forces but I stayed at a Holiday Inn last night. (No, I didn’t.)
Joking aside, anyone in the 82nd gets a tip of the Drill chapeau. SOF, maybe not, but just about as good as it gets. No Brian Williams, to be sure...
Maybe he was the special operator that gave John Kerry his special hat on his imaginary trip that Nixon sent him on with Martin Sheen?
