A free-market women’s group is calling Oscar winner Patricia Arquette out for what it calls “feel good political statements based on faulty facts” after she called for equal pay and equal rights for women.
“Arquette should know we already have equal rights for women-including laws that protect women against wage discrimination,” Independent Women’s Forum managing director Carrie Lukas said Monday. “The statistical difference between men and women’s average earnings isn’t driven by sexism, but rather primarily is a results of men and women making very different choices about how to spend their time.”

As though the nation cares what these air heads say, especially when someone else has to write it down for them. These Leftist “cause” speeches are only given to grab more air time and publicity for the Holly Weirds. No one pays any attention to them 364 days out of the year, so they have to preen and proclaim in front of the media on their Big Day. “American Sniper” made more money in ticket sales than all these “thin gruel” movies combined. That is the real vote for Best Picture of the Year.
She might wish to first focus on her line of work which is acting. Do actors make more than actresses and if so, why? Leo diCaprio makes more than twice what Angelina Jolie makes? why is that? These liberals may wish to revisit supply vs demand in their own backyard.
I didn’t watch it and I’m happy I didn’t. The last thing I wanted to do on a pleasant evening was watch some libtard scream fest about how BAD our country is to women/illegal immigrants/blacks/etc.. A liberal orgy of how rotten we as a nation are... disgusts me. Get your award, thank whoever, STFU and sit down.

It is like Obama running against the policies and actions of his own administration and himself.

IMHO, Hollywood idiots believe they are so smart.. smarter than the peons watching the show that they NEED to tell everyone else what is relevant. It shows their stupidity. It shows their arrogance and self conceit. I much preferred it when they thanked their: parents, director, spouse etc.. cried a little and sat down.

The actress’s are told to take their clothes off or they do not get the movie role. She herself has had to do so.
Women are routinely degraded in movie roles.
If she is so worried about unequal pay she could have mentioned the hacked Sony emails where the FEMALE executive talked openly about paying female stars less.
Safer to attack a generic “them” than cite real examples in her own industry by people she would like to work for someday.

I recently read “Feminist Fantasies” by Phyllyis Schlafly, and she expounds brilliantly on why the ERA was a bad thing for women, and why it was defeated and never ratified.
Basically,in one aspect, feminists want to do away with many of the societal protections codified in law to protect women from unscrupulous men, and doing this under the aegis of equality. (One example is in the context of women who have children in a relationship where a man is not fulfilling his responsibilities)
Actresses are still told to do more than take off their clothes or they don’t get the role, as I’m sure all the cheering women last night know full well. If Patricia really wanted to be brave, she should have named all the directors/producers/executives she knows have traded movie work for sexual favors.
Odd how her former TV drama never made it to reruns. Can't remember any TV drama that ran for over 5 years not going to reruns.
The final episode was a slap in the face of the fans.
