The U.S. fears that without a cash injection, the Palestinian Authority could collapse, entailing serious security implications for Palestinians and Israelis.
Secretary of State John Kerry discussed the issue Saturday with British Foreign Secretary Philip Hammond in London.
Kerry said the possibility of the Palestinian government halting security cooperation with Israel or disbanding because of its economic predicament was real.

On face value creating a vacuum by letting the PA collapse is probable a bad idea...
Considering nature abhors a vacuum, something probably a lot worse than the PA will occupy that vacuum...

Since the Palestinian Authority is collapsing, what difference will it make to the Palestinians if Bibi Netanyahu loses the upcoming Israel election and the new pacifist Herzog/Livna coalition gives away the West Bank, as it’s been dreaming of doing for decades? All it will mean is that the Palestinian Authority will have more land to collapse on.
