SPOKANE, Wash. (AP) - A Tri-Cities florist has declined state Attorney General Bob Ferguson's offer to settle a discrimination case involving flowers for a gay wedding.
Barronelle Stutzman on Friday sent a letter to Ferguson rejecting his offer to settle the case by paying a $2,000 fine and agreeing to sell flowers to people planning gay weddings.
Stutzman says in a press release that she continues to believe that marriage should be between one man and one woman.
The 70-year-old Stutzman has earlier said she plans to appeal a judge's ruling that she broke a Washington state anti-discrimination law by refusing to provide flowers for a gay wedding.
Benton County Superior Court Judge Alex Ekstrom on Wednesday rejected arguments that Stutzman's actions were protected by her freedoms of speech and religion.

Not yet, you haven’t.
Heroic woman. She has put her faith in Christ. Pray justice for her, her family and her Church.
I don’t believe it either. Any Christian knows the difference between serving a public which may include homos, and serving the specific homosexual agenda.
Homosexuals can announce their sex behavior choice without recrimination.
It is ‘marriage’ where Christians draw the line because people celebrate ‘marriage’ as sanctified unto Christ. Homosexual ‘marriage’ has no place in a Church nor in businesses that cater to a Church institution because homosexuality is a sin and its warped meaning of ‘marriage’ mocks the Church.
It’s about time for a large contingent of protesters to go to the AG’s office, arms in hand, and say, “Enough!”
I haven’t seen the story but could understand why a orthodox Christian might not want to take them into the practice as regular clients, as long as medical care from other practitioners was readily available.
I’ll buy a dozen roses and send them to Arlene!!
“...lived there your whole life...”
Most Christian businesses do not refuse to serve gays per se, but only draw the line concerning gay marriage. I do not think that most Christian doctors would consider it wrong to provide medical service to gays, much less to provide it to their children.
With or without religion, marriage is between one man and one woman. Even in the time of the Plymouth Colony it was a civil matter and people were expected to marry and have children.
Yes but they would go broke pretty fast.
I wouldn’t mind treating the child but don’t want a goll-darn thing to do with the “parents”.
Lived there as a teen. Went to RHS and bought all of my homecoming/prom corsages from Arlene’s.
Go Bombers!
I called Arlene’s. They can take orders for delivery (by phone, or online), for ANYWHERE in the USofA!
Call Arlene’s for YOUR next floral order!!
Great!
Our oldest girl is starting at RHS next year. My brother attended when it was Columbia High School.
"She asks that all funds be sent to: Arlene's Defense Fund 1177 Lee Blvd. Richland, WA. 99352
Or you may give to the Fund at any Key Bank branch in Washington state.
