Former Republican presidential candidate and congressman Ron Paul says secession is happening and its good news. Paul later predicted the states would stop listening to federal laws.
I would like to start off by talking about the subject and the subject is secession and, uh, nullification, the breaking up of government, and the good news is its gonna happen. Its happening, Paul, the father of potential Republican presidential candidate Rand Paul, told a gathering at the libertarian Mises Institute in late January. The event Paul was speaking at was titled Breaking Away: The Case for Secession.
Paul said secession would not be legislated by Congress, but would be defacto, predicting when conditions breakdown theres gonna be an alternative.
And its not gonna be because there will be enough people in the U.S. Congress to legislate it. It wont happen. It will be defacto. Ya know, youll have a gold standard when the paper standard fails and were getting awfully close to that. And people will have to resort to taking care of themselves. So when conditions breakdown, ya know, theres gonna be an alternative. And I think thats what were witnessing.

Does anyone really think they will let their slaves go? Never. Soon DC will be demanding Tributes.
Call me when something shapes up. I’ll be waiting.
Is it time? And in what form?
Well, as TXhurl said, this isnt 1846.
Well, he is stupid. A useful idiot. If he succeeds in ushering in a totalitarian state whether any one of his three favorite forms: Marxist, fascist, Islamic or any combination thereof, he and his fellow useful idiots will be among the first to lose their heads on the chopping block.
Get your tongue off the under side of the federal boot and get back to me when your balls grow back.
Yes, arrogant to the max. Flawed thinking and morals. They were democrats and like today they had no problems sucking their low information voters into a war that promised nothing for them but death.
As far as killing people, you start a war then you had better expect casualties. What were they supposed to do? Find jobs for those poor deluded secessionists? Yeah, that’s the ticket just like today.
The south was wrong, morally and politically, started a war by seceding, and firing the first shot and THEY LOST so get over it. Stop trying to relive and refight the democrat party days of “glory”.
Or, we could just return to the separation/division of powers as given in the Constitution - that would preclude any secession or civil war (which wouldn’t be a civil war, it would be the third American war for independence).
The only one’s lacking balls are those who are not willing to take a stand and restore the Constitution by whatever means necessary. Secession is disunion, going it alone, with no unity of purpose among the seceding states. The south had that unity in 1860, today that won’t happen. What are you going to do? Find enough people willing to take a risk and stand up to remove the illegals, democrats and others who will oppose you? Won’t happen, you won’t even be able to establish defensible borders. You won’t find enough citizens with balls or courage enough to stand up and risk their lives and money. The founders knew very well that individual states seceding from the crown wouldn’t win; they had to present a united front of all the states. I guess it’s easier to secede, sit back and hope for they come for you last or that you can make a deal to keep some of your wealth and freedom. Best of luck with your new lost cause. Secession is the gutless and the stupid approach.
You’ve acquired the taste of the federal boot. How sad for you. Boot lickers are pathetic indeed.
Or Monaco. 0.78 square miles
Yes, that’s pretty much what I was saying, though not as clearly.
Well said. I suspect he's starting to fear the consequences and may back off a bit. Meanwhile, it's going to take us a generation to undo all the 'fundamental transformation' damage he has caused. And Hillary is on deck. .
I understand. You’re a lunatic.
That richard head’s attitude demonstrates why the first CW was necessary and why there will probably be another.
Bravo! That statement strikes me as the most sensible of many made to this point.
Others may advocate stepping away from the Constitution; our efforts should be to honor, support and protect the document which during its lifetime has enabled us to enjoy and share with the rest of mankind great and noble advances.
Breaking our nation into small, independent portions would only make it easier for those internally and externally who would like to effect our demise.
So if Texas were to secede would you take up arms against Texas? Would you force it back into this unholy union?
