President Obama offered an extended defense of his approach to countering violent extremism on Wednesday, saying those who have criticized his administration's reluctance to single out the threat specifically posed by Muslim extremists are in danger of offering extremists the kind of legitimacy they crave.
"Al Qaeda, ISIL, and groups like it, are desperate for legitimacy," he said. "We must never accept the premise that they put forward, because it is a lie. Nor should we grand these terrorists the religious legitimacy that they seek. They are not religious leaders, they are terrorists.
"We are not at war with Islam," he added. "We are at war with people who have perverted Islam."

Obama has made thousands of stupid, transparent statements in his perpetual defense of Islam.
But this one ranks near the top of the “Most Stupid Statements In The History Of The Universe” list.
He certainly speaks of his expertise on all things muslim more often than any other subject. At this point I think any muslim who disagrees with 0bama should be considered an apostate.
They are at war with us. They have been at war with their neighbors everywhere in the world since their inception. They have not perverted their “religion”.
His CHERISHED Religion is ISLAM!!!! ANd he thinks it’s being distorted, but deep down he LOVES Christians and JEWS being KILLED by his PEEPS!
Don’t grant Obama legitimacy by calling him a president!
“We are at war with people who perverted Islam.” That means we should start with the author of Islam, Mohammed, may pigs be upon him, who wrote the Koran and the over 130 commands to kill, conquer, subjugate, enslave, and forcefully convert the unbeliever. Its perverted from its inception.

Oddly enough the individual that has the philosophy that Al-Quaeda, ISIL Hamas and other Islamic extremists base their agenda on is known as Political Islamism as decreed by Sayeed Qut. In 1966, Sayeed was Hanged by the neck for his views in Egypt. There is a book out regarding Sayeed Quts philosophy and the philosophy has an interesting concept Social Justice of Islamism. Just wonder what Social Justice is Obama truly pushing - Liberal Social Justice or Social Justice of Islamism
Qut’s philosophy is called Qutbism (sorry if the spelling is wrong) A concept he promotes is Jahiliyyah ( Godless Ignorance) That true Islam has been in apostate state for centuries as it has syncretized with the West and has downgraded itself with aiding and abetting Israel (Egypt, Jordan Saudi Arabia, the US and Europe)
