The audience for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahus speech to Congress on March 3 is shaping up to be largely Republican and almost completely white.
Many members of the Congressional Black Caucus say theyre planning to skip the speech, calling it a slight to President Barack Obama that they cant and wont support.
Israeli officials have been caught by surprise by the CBC backlash, kicked off by Rep. John Lewis (D-Ga.), a civil rights leader who said last week he wouldnt attend, quickly followed by Rep. Jim Clyburn (D-S.C.) and others. As a result, theyre working to set up a meeting for CBC members with Ambassador Ron Dermer or even Netanyahu himself when hes in Washington.
To me, it is somewhat of an insult to the president of the United States, said Rep. Greg Meeks (D-N.Y.), leaving the White House on Tuesday after a long meeting with Obama and Vice President Joe Biden, whos skipping the speech himself. Barack Obama is my president, hes the nations president, and it is clear therefore that Im not going to be there, as a result of that, not as a result of the good people of Israel.
Netanyahus speech to Congress, scheduled just two weeks before Israeli national elections, is aimed at stopping a deal with Iran over its nuclear weapons program a diplomatic opening Obama administration officials believe could reintegrate Iran into the international community and enhance Israels security. Netanyahu, however, feels the United States and its international partners are being naive about Irans true intent.
Im determined to speak before Congress to stop Iran, Netanyahu tweeted on Tuesday.

Dear black lawmakers:
STFU.
If only we had a president; instead we have OhVomit. Ooops, disrespect!!!!
See, telling it like it is to the the IWON is disrespecting him. I guess the IWON cannot handle the truth except by avoiding it.
CBC playin dat racecard.
Hey jerks! Most Americans can’t wait for “your” president to be gone.
Mygosh, isn’t the administration working its mischief to get the opposition elected in Israel?
They’d better enjoy bragging about this disastrous First Black President, because it may be the last one for a hundred years. Affirmative action in business and politics has been a total failure, as the caliber of the Black Caucus so amply illustrates. Gerrymandering districts to have these clowns in positions of influence has been yet another Liberal failure of judgment.
Funny how it wasn’t disrespectful when the exact same thing happened in 2011.
I find it useful when ignorance like this is displayed. It keeps my head straight about what I already know.
See, Bibi is a racist. Who knew?
Unfortunately, we have Satan as POTUS.
I tell you, Obama has all the markings of a type of antichrist. It’s getting scary.
No matter what anyone, anywhere says about ,makes little difference when it comes to “respect”. He hasn’t earned any and hence deserves none.
This speech is the Left’s worst nightmare. Netanyahu will give a spellbinding speech in this unique forum that will galvanize people to the threat of Islamic imperialism the way Churchill’s 1946 Missouri “iron curtain” speech rallied the West against communism. Both are existential threats to Western civilization. His speech and clarity will contrast vividly with Obama’s contorted policies and incoherent mumblings. The Left will do everything it can to stop this speech. The congressional black caucus and Obama are part of the Left.
“disrespect” is not a verb. Not in Western English, that is.
Now, was it OK to “dis” president Bush? Why? Because he’s white?
Does that mean the president’s skin color determines whether it is OK to criticize him?
Yes, I know the answer - just making them be honest about it.
Dear Black Lawmakers,
You are wrong. Leaders of other countries have spoken to Congress before without White House permission.
In this case, you are choosing Iran, a nuclear Iran, prematurely without listening to the leader of the only true ally the US has in the Middle East.
You have made your choice and it will be remembered. The sole motivation for obama to protest Netanyahu’s Congressional appearance is obama wants to allow Iran to arm itself with nuclear weapons over the objection of the American people and Israel.
So, you choose Iran? You choose against the United States. You choose terrorism. It will be remembered.
The Communist Black Caucus shows its antisemitism.
“The audience for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahus speech to Congress on March 3 is shaping up to be largely Republican and almost completely white.”
Because only feckless Blacks and White Obama Marxists could possibly consider defending the president at this point in his headlong rush to destroy the United States and the American way of life.
It’s too bad these pitiful folks in the CBC don’t act like Americans. Their constituents should be ashamed.
I revel in disrespecting Odumbo every chance I get.
