Rev. Wright's Star Pupil
Townhall.com ^ | February 10, 2015 | Pat Buchanan

Posted on 02/10/2015 5:58:22 AM PST by Kaslin

"A steady patriot of the world alone,

"The friend of every country -- but his own."

George Canning's couplet about the Englishmen who professed love for all the world except their own native land comes to mind on reading Obama's remarks at the National Prayer Breakfast.

After listing the horrors of ISIS, al-Qaida and Boko Haram, the president decided his recital of crimes committed in the name of Islam would be unbalanced, if he did not backhand those smug Christians sitting right in front of him.

"And lest we get on our high horse ... remember that during the Crusades and the Inquisition, people committed terrible deeds in the name of Christ. In our home country, slavery and Jim Crow all too often was justified in the name of Christ."

Why did he do it? He had to know that dredging up and dragging in real or imagined crimes of Christianity from centuries ago would anger Christians and obliterate whatever else he had to say.

Was it Edgar Allen Poe's "Imp of the Perverse" prodding him to stick it to the Christians? Was it the voice of his old pastor, the Rev. Jeremiah "God damn America!" Wright muttering in his ear?

I believe this betrays something deeper. Obama revels in reciting the sins of Christianity and the West because he does not see himself as a loyal son of the civilization Christianity produced.

He sees himself as a citizen of the world who rejects the idea that our cradle faith Christianity is superior or that our civilization is superior. For he seems to seize every opportunity to point up the sins of Christianity and the West and the contributions of other faiths and civilizations.

Consider the bill of particulars in Obama's indictment of crimes committed "in the name of Christ."

Slavery was not invented by Christians. It existed when Christ was born. Fifth century Athens and the Roman republic had slaves. African slaves were brought not only to the New World in the 17th and 18th centuries but to Arabia and the Islamic world. Black African chieftains produced the captives for the slave trade.

Why then does Obama single out Christianity for indictment, when it was Christians and their teachings about human dignity, and Christian moral leaders and Christian nations that abolished the slave trade and slavery itself, which endured in the Islamic world into the 20th century?

Though he brought up crimes committed "in the name of Christ," Obama did not mention the name of Muhammad. An oversight?

As for the Crusades, there were indeed atrocities on both sides during these expeditions and wars from the end of the 11th to the end of the 13th century, with the fall of Acre in 1291.

But were the Crusades, military expeditions by Christian knights to liberate Jerusalem from the Muslims who had overrun these lands where Jesus had walked, preached, and died, unjust wars?

Obama seems to see the Crusades from the Saracen point of view.

But does he really believe that when Pope Urban II preached the First Crusade at Clermont in 1095 to have Christian knights relieve the siege of Byzantium and liberate the Holy Land, this was the moral equivalent of Bin Laden declaring war to rid the Islamic Middle East of Americans?

Not long go, our popular culture portrayed Crusaders as heroes, their cause as noble. Among the most famous was Richard the Lionhearted who led the Third Crusade. Gen. Eisenhower entitled his war memoirs "Crusade in Europe."

Like his derisive remarks about Middle Pennsylvanians, that they cling with bitterness to their bibles, guns and antipathy to immigrants, Obama's Prayer Breakfast digression reveals much more about who the man is.

He dragged in the Inquisition. Yet, as Alexander Solzhenitsyn noted, Vladimir Lenin ordered more people executed in his first days in power than did the Spanish Inquisition in 300 years.

In drawing parallels between Christianity and Islam, Obama misses a basic point. Unlike Islam, which, in one century, conquered Arabia, the Middle and Near East, the Holy Land, North Africa and Spain, until the Muslim advance was halted by Charles Martel at Poitiers in France, Christianity did not conquer with the sword, but with the Word.

Only after 300 years of persecution and martyrdom were the Christians, through the Edict of Milan, allowed to practice their faith.

Christianity was not imposed on the Old World, but embraced.

America's problem: With Islamic fanaticism surging, with ISIS using the term "Crusader" as a curse word equivalent to "Nazi," we have as leader of the West a man who partly shares the enemy's views about the Christian Crusades, and who seems at best ambivalent about the superiority of the civilization that he leads.

Again, Canning's words come to mind:

"No narrow bigot he; -- his reason'd view

"Thy interests, England, ranks with thine, Peru!

"France at our doors, he sees no danger nigh,

"But heaves for Turkey's woes the impartial sigh;

"A steady patriot of the world alone,

"The friend of every country -- but his own."

Pat Buchanan knocks it out of the park.

Thanks Kaslin for posting this piece. It's about all one needs to know about the sleeper agent, except for the fact that he's been hiding right in front of us all along, to no one's surprise here at the armory. I believe we are in for some rather rough times now that the enemy (cornered rat) and his plans have been discovered deep within the gates. A full onslaught by the hordes is imminent, and a side dish of taqqiyah is now being served up three times a day.

As Revy Ralph said in his own fascist intonations from a skewed nationalist socialist pulpit,”God Damn America.”

Obama is indeed his star pupil carrying out Revy Ralph’s marching orders.

Obama in speaking of the Crusades is justifying modern jihadi atrocities and genocide by conduct of Christians during the middle ages, 900 years ago during the time of Saladin. This was very carefully executed with planning by the White House staff.

This illustrates Obama’s view of current political expediency which historians traditionally call “historic justice.” The view of historic justice is common to virtually every fascist dictator during the modern era, including Adolf Hitler, Benito Mussolini,General Tojo, Nikolai Ceausescu, and others including Robert Mugabe, and Idi Amin Dada. The alleged sins of the forefathers will be paid by descendants who had nothing to do with their being committed, and indeed in Obama’s case, those descendants elected him to office in a paroxysm of populist, hoodwinking
charisma.Recorded tapes of both Hitler and Obamas strident , stirring political speeches , their gestures, the exhortive tones, are very similar, and in some cases almost identical.

Few today understand the historic context which is something that Winston Churchill left to us as an inherited view of the history analysis of fascism.Obama has an agenda to socially transform the United States along racial and ethnic minority nationalism lines ( Southern Border illegal aliens, immigrant Muslims, national defence policy weakened, economy botched by taxation to pay for redistribution of wealth programs), with a socialist plan for wealth redistribution, that is to say: Nationalist Socialism.

This makes Obama himself a fascist whose intent is to destroy America, elected to office under a charismatic cloud against freedom, the same way Mussolini and Hitler were.It will take a generation to mend the damage that Obama has done to our nation and to our alliances abroad, if he does not cause WW III in his last years of office.

I believe personally that impeachment is too good for this thug we have in the White House. He should be summarily arrested, charged, tried and incarcerated for identity fraud and treason to our allies, as well as extortion ( Al Sharpton his extortion race jockey),and willfully contravening the Constitution, and then he should be duly executed after his trial as punishment for the millions of needless deaths he has caused in Mexico,Libya,Syria, Iraq, Egypt, Sudan, Somalia, Yemen,Nigeria and Kenya, many of whom were Christians falling to the swords of Islam.

Now Obama meddles in the national elections of Israel, a fact that is in itself the basis for impeachment, even if one ignored all of his other travesties, legitimated by a fraudulent presidency.

If the GOP has committed lesser sins, history may forgive them, but history will never forgive the GOP for failing to go after this fascist president with direct criminal law force of Congress and impeachment.

Lest you think my remarks inappropriate I refer you to this essay written in 2008, by a greater historian than I:

” Barack Obama: The Quintessential Fascist”

http://www.americanthinker.com/2009/05/barack_obama_the_quintessentia_1.html

Its time to stop playing with Obama, and attack him on all fronts as the wheedling, murdering, fascist dictator he truly is.Put him behind bars forthwith and advance his trial immediately by Congress itself.

My view on all this is that Buchannan is mistaking deliberative religious and scholarly thought on Obama and his origins, intentions and motives and somehow connecting them to Christianity and how that was influenced by the likes of Jeremiah Wright, et al.

My view is that all of that (his attendance at Wright’s church) was a means to an end. A path to a more devious end.

There is nothing remotely Christian about Obama. You can count on the fingers of one hand the number of times this Muslim has attended a Christian church as President. Yet, you can find scores of instances where he has greatly strained to compare a century’s old Christian past history of brutality with current Islamic violence and call it all ‘even’. This man is calling America “A Muslim Nation” for cripes sake!

What do you people need to figure this out? Pat and the rest of the has-beens can keep trying to rationalize Obama’s actions in some sort of twisted manner that dregs up all sorts of historical events, but the fact remains this man is a MUSLIM! Recognize.

The first step on recovery for any problem is to RECOGNIZE you have the problem

Rant off.

Fitting poem for Obama. He definitely has issues with WEstern Civilization.
I do believe that he and his writers come up with this nonsense to make himself relevant. The more emotion he can invoke from the opposition, the more power he feels.
All the more reason NOT to give this guy any permission to use military force against ISIS. His half-assed mission will go badly and he will blame the fiasco on Republicans.

One of the things we can be certain of is that President Obama struggles with whether he wants to cause a) serious damage to the USA, b) seriously irreparable damage, c) seriously imminent, irreparable, or d) irreversible, imminent, irreparable damage. He is conflicted.

You can't seriously believe that, that arrogant pos occupant of 1600 Pennsylvania struggles with whether he want to cause serious damage to the USA and all the other stuff that you mentioned.

You can bet he wants it all.

That was a most interesting read by Kyle-Anne Shiver, and thank you for the no-bull- post.

If he doesn't know it now, he will. With our God, We win!

Now we know why he "slipped up" and talked about his muslim faith, until corrected by steponallofus, and when he was tired from campaigning, he said he had been to 57 states, see he learned about the muslim 57 states in school, not America's 50 states.

Remember this "american" did not set foot on America's mainland until he was 18 years old.

Sometimes I try to be amusing. Needless to say, little nuances and humor don’t always work.

Sounds like your knickers were twisted up a bit with regards to bad breath Buchanan, before you even read the article. I just reread the thing, and didn’t see anything close to what you contend about the “has-been.”

By the way it’s better to be a “has been” than a “never was.”

Taqqiyah. It’s being refined, weaponized and institutionalized.

I get it.

"Reverend" Wright's "church" isn't about Christianity either. Black liberation theology is about Afrocentric ideology, the theological trapping are just there for respectability. Obama is exactly the same, so it really isn't news that he's not really concerned with Christian theology, western history, or western culture. Neither are "Revs" Wright, Sharpton, Jackson, etc. They too sympathize with Islamism, because for some strange reason, Arabs and other Muslims have become honorary black Africans in their mind.
