Busting lemonade stands run by kids, etc.
Etc., etc.....
We have a tough, dangerous job.
Our brother cop did not get up that morning with the goal of becoming involved in an officer-involved shooting.
If you’re REALLY not up to no good you won’t mind me taking a look, right?
What, are you a hippy..?
Still mad about that ticket, 10 years ago..?
We’re just doing our jobs.
The key thing is for us to go home safely at the end of the shift.
Next time you have an emergency, just call the ACLU.
We have to make split second decisions youre being unfair.
Dont paint us all with the same broad brush.
I don’t think you understand just how highly we are trained.
Were the thin blue line, what, ya want anarchy..?
You must just be a cop hater.
New ones? Help me add to my list!
What ever happened to shoot to wound?
The $60,000 question is, did the old man hear it?
Ezekeal Emanuel’s magic #75 years! With any luck, such “welfare checks at midnight” will become official government healthcare benefits starting on your 74th birthday.
If it was just before midnight, wouldn’t it still be Saturday night?
If I go to check on a 74 year old man, and upon entering his home he confronts me with a gun, well, I give up my ground, put my gun away, and my hands up and tell him that I am leaving.
Then I exit and try to sort the situation out.
I wonder what this guy did to make the cop kill him? Unless he seemed insane and about ready to shoot, then I would submit to his territorial demands under the condition that I had only come by to check on his health, and then contact the family to come talk to him.
Nobody shot a dog first? No grandkids handcuffed, kicked, and cursed at with death threats?
I suppose someone had to kill him. now days, the surest way to get someone killed is to sic the law on them in the guise of “helping” them. Now, I would not call the police to my worst enemy. Hell, I would not call the police o Obama, as much as I despise him.
His family calls the cops because they are concerned about him. Is this family crippled or something? They can’t go over and check themselves? Did they go over and check on him? The cops knock on the door nobody answers, is the guy deaf? He don’t answer his family and the cops? So they think either he’s dead or unconscious so they call EMT and fire dept for possible dead body, FD breaks the door down, cop enters and the guy is pointing a gun and him and of course the cop shoots him because he don’t want to die. And of course once again the cop is in trouble, everybody blames the cop because he had the audacity to not want to die.
Wonder if the family will be calling the police for anything in the future?
Never, ever call the police on a loved one... unless you want them dead.
Probably couldn’t hear the cop.
There is an Oregon Statute that says that a person is not responsible for their actions for 30 seconds after waking up. I don’t know about the law on this elsewhere.
Perhaps the cop woke up the old man, scared the daylights out of him, and then killed him due to his reaction and reduced cognitive functions.
So much wrong with all of this. At least there was no dead dog as well.
Our next door neighbor, a few years after we had moved away, had this happen. Her husband was suffering from dementia and maybe something else? She called the cops because of his behavior. When he answered the door with the gun in his hand, they shot him. No, they did not try to figure out what his problem was or ask him to put away his gun.
There were no charges brought against the police or anything. It was probably an unnecessary shooting, but what are cops supposed to do if they don’t know the guy or his level of sanity?
Next time you call the cops to check on family members, remember to explicitly mention NOT to kill them (or their dogs).
“I’m concerned about grandpa, could you please stop by and kill him?”
Sounds like the man wasn’t doing very good.
Why call the cops???
