Brian Williams is stepping away from NBC Nightly News for several days.
The anchor sent a note to the show's staff, announcing that Lester Holt is replacing him this week. The news comes as the anchor is embroiled in a scandal surrounding his story about being a passenger in a helicopter that took fire in the Iraq War.
Williams' message can be seen, below.
"In the midst of a career spent covering and consuming news, it has become painfully apparent to me that I am presently too much a part of the news, due to my actions.
"As Managing Editor of NBC Nightly News, I have decided to take myself off of my daily broadcast for the next several days, and Lester Holt has kindly agreed to sit in for me to allow us to adequately deal with this issue. Upon my return, I will continue my career-long effort to be worthy of the trust of those who place their trust in us."
More to come...

“As Managing Editor of NBC Nightly Fiction, Deliberate Omission and Misdirection”
There. Fixed it.
Your tagline is too cute and silly!
Photoshop his head on ‘looter guy’.
Precisely!!!
That has already happened. It is here on FR somewhere.
I say it posted by the check-out at a small country store.
Why? We never had faith in NBC anyway.
Just continue on and maybe have a guest anchor like Al Sharpton or Whoopie from time to time.
Get Farrakhan to present Muslim weather from Queens.
JESSEE_JACKSON_3-DAY_CONTRITION_TOUR_PING!
“How about a full reisgnation and going into exile in Brazil or somewhere?”
Cuba is nice this time of year.
IMHO
*say it posted = saw it posted.
So the liar will continue his managing editor role - calling the shots on content with his usual political prejudice and bias - and return when he thinks the public has moved on. It should be our effort to aid the public in never moving on for Williams - he should move on, from the news business.
It would take NBC a couple of months to start critics talking. In the end, he could give FOX a run for the money, and run away from the other networks like they were nailed to the ground.
Of course, he would have to push back against his own puppeteers who could never abide such a thing.
Over the last couple of decades, NBC made Dan Rather look objective.
CC
NBC, of course, is owned by regime affiliate Comcast.
So profit is secondary to propaganda.
Yeah, as if Comcast is going to continue paying his salary to be “general editor.”
This is someone’s lame attempt to get through this. My guess is that his lawyers are talking to Comcast lawyers trying to figure out a severance package.
He stepped away a long time ago.
With his money he could easily afford a nice place in Turks and Cacos and have a ski chalet in Tirol whenever the sunny beaches start to bore him.
