“The EPA has finalized a 344-page rule”

We need a law that says any government agency that wishes to hand down a regulation, that regulation must be submitted to congress, as a stand alone bill (no attaching it to any other legislation so it cant be snuck in) for a vote. It must pass both houses of congress. And if passed, has to be signed by the president (the president can also veto it if he chooses).

No more of this handing down arbitrary regulations that is automatically law without having been passed by congress.

I agree. If Congress passes a law and an agency feels compelled to implement it with 344 pages, then those pages must pass through Congress as a legitimate expression of Congressional intent.

I agree with your idea, but good luck getting anything done in this country ever again.

It’s becoming apparent that the only remedy remaining is to shoot the bastards when they show up at your house. (the ammo box)

So I guess the EPA will now be sending in SWAT teams to enforce their wood stove regs? :(

That will only come about via an Article 5 “Convention of the States” proposed Amendment to the Constitution. Congress and the executive will never agree to such a law since that would severely limit their power.

What’s the point of even having a congress that doesn’t make laws? The erosion of congressional power is really amazing, but they seem to be OK with it. As long as they get their paychecks they’re happy.

We need a law that says any government agency that wishes to hand down a regulation, that regulation must be submitted to congress, as a stand alone bill (no attaching it to any other legislation so it cant be snuck in) for a vote.

You're talking a Constitutional Amendment; I have one that does similar to what you propose, check out Sec VIII:

Tax Reform Amendment
Section I
No tax, fee, fine, or judgement —federal, State, or subdivision of either— shall ever be withheld from any wage.

Section II
No property shall be seized for failure to pay taxes until after conviction in a jury trial; the right of the jury to nullify (and thereby forgive) this debt shall never be questioned or denied.

Section III
The second amendment is hereby recognized as restricting the power of taxation, both federal and state, therefore no tax (or fine) shall be laid upon munitions or the sale thereof.

Section IV
The seventh amendment is also hereby recognized, and nothing in this amendment shall restrict the right of a citizen to seek civil redress.

Section V
No income tax levied by the federal government, the several States, or any subdivision of either shall ever exceed 10%.

Section VI
No income tax levied by the federal government, the several States, or any subdivision of either shall ever apply varying rates to those in its jurisdiction.

Section VII
No retrospective, retroactive or ex post facto tax, fee, or fine shall ever be valid; nor shall the Congress delegate the creation of any tax, fee, or fine in any way; nor shall Congress give any credit, exemption, or deduction to any person or class of persons whatsoever.

Section VIII
No federal employee, representative, senator, judge, justice or agent shall ever be exempt from any tax, fine, or fee by virtue of their position.

Section IX
Any federal employee, representative, senator, judge, justice or agent abridging, attempting to abridge, or otherwise circumventing this amendment shall, upon conviction, be evicted from office and all retirement benefits forfeit.
The rest of the proposed amendments, and their rationale, are here and there's a FR-comment thread here.

Amen. Should have been done that way a long time ago.

And the director of said agency must deliver the regulation to the floor of the House/Senate in person.

And they have go be naked.
