CHICAGO — The site of the Obama presidential library and museum will be announced next month, and apparently the First Lady is going to pick it.
The Chicago Sun-Times reports Michelle Obama will make the final decision, and she is said to be favoring Columbia University in New York. The school wants to build the library on its new campus in Harlem.
Chicago has two bids being considered … the University of Chicago on the south side, and UIC on the west side.
The University of Hawaii is also in the running.
Or Mombasa, where he is reputed to have left a footprint in the maternity ward and where generations of the Obama Clan conducted their slave market. Perhaps Vancouver, where some think Stanley foaled. Then again, the mysterious sojourn in Pakistan should be honored, so how about Islamabad?
At any rate, I do not feel an American should make this decision. It's far too important.

I am retired from retail, in our hey day we had 11 stores mostly in malls and I’ve been involved with several that were being built. Sadly we are just down to one free standing store my sister is running and I don’t know how long it will last...100 year old brick and mortar family business is going the way of the Dodo bird.

I’m seeing Laurence Olivier and Tony Curtis in the bath, and Brian Williams is handing out towels and saying, “I am Spartacus!”
But, a library? This administration has concealed just about everything about their boy. So, 20,000 copies of “Dreams From My Fathers”?
How in the h*ll did this stupid ritual come about in which every POTUS has to have a “library” as if they were phenomenal intellectuals, philosopher-kings whose every word must be interred for all time in a sanctuary? They are just people, many of them unremarkable and mediocre, and a lot of them are complete idiots. It’s like pharoahs building pyramids. Seriously? More millions in tax dollars to make monuments for imbeciles (a lot of them anyhow). The current pretender doesn’t deserve anything but an extended jail term, impeachment or a one-way ticket back to Kenya.
How about building it on that exposed-face, racist, Oreo Cookie Moon of ours. It could be the first planned library off planet, on the dark side, naturally, right next to the Dome of the Moon Mosque.
