#3 – Foreigner: “Waiting for a Girl Like You”

English musician Mick Jones was stranded in New York, rented a space and auditioned musicians for a new band. Ian McDonald of King Crimson joined up, but Jones had a problem finding a lead vocalist until he heard a recording by a recently disbanded outfit called Black Sheep. The lead singer, Lou Gramm, was just right for the sound he envisioned. After a difficult struggle, they signed with Atlantic Records and released their first work in 1977, going all the way to the top.

In its early days, MTV avoided the dirty videos, and producers were forced to create clean versions for that channel.

The dirty videos were aired on a show called "Night Flight" on USA on Friday and Saturday nights.
