NBC News anchor Brian Williams, who apologized on the air Wednesday night for lying about an experience covering the Iraq War, is now facing scrutiny over his gripping accounts of Hurricane Katrina, the disaster that burnished his nightly news bona fides almost a decade ago.
Williams account of seeing a body float by in the French Quarter which remained largely dry and even a claim of catching dysentery from drinking Katrina floodwaters have raised eyebrows among bloggers and elsewhere since he took it on the chin this week over a claim that he rode in a helicopter that was downed by a rocket-propelled grenade in Iraq.
I was instead in a following aircraft. We all landed after the ground fire incident and spent two harrowing nights in a sandstorm in the Iraq desert, Williams said Wednesday. He painted his earlier description as a bungled attempt to thank an Iraq War veteran.
The online feeding frenzy quickly turned to the 55-year-old anchors signature assignment: covering Katrina from before it made landfall, when he spent the night of the storm with refuge-seekers in the Superdome and then reported on the harrowing days that followed.

There IS a pathology going on in Brian’s head.
He needs to get help!
the disinfotainment industry is about to EXPLODE!
Habitually lying is a resume enhancer for a Democrat politician. Brian Williams is going to run for office!
Yet NBC is still standing by their man. I guess lyin Brian is too big to fail.
I read that they are looking for a replacement for Chris Hayes over at MSNBC...
There’s no moral equivalency here... unless you know something the rest of us don’t know...
Fox reported that Williams was “too big to fail.” But Tom Brokaw wants him fired. And now the Katrina thing. My bet - he’s out.
Williams got just too big for his pants and now he’s being exposed in the end.
Pathological lying, a major symptom of Liberalism which is has no known vaccine.
“But Tom Brokaw wants him fired.”
“We use words like “honor”, “code”, “loyalty”. We use these words as the backbone of a life spent defending something. You use them as a punchline.” — Col. Nathan R. Jessup, USMC in “A Few Good Men” (played by Jack Nicholson)
MSM Cannibalism: truly a joy to behold.
This is not just one lie.
A man with any sense of personal honor would have resigned already.
I was here during Katrina and when I heard that dead bodies were floating in the French Quarter I was puzzled. The FQ was the ONLY place around here that wasn’t flooded. That idiot most likely added to the stress many had who had just gone through the worst hurricane in history. We were able to get radio and one TV station. He needs to be run out of town.
We were never wet. It was never wet, he remarked of the conditions in the citys most historic neighborhood. As for dysentery, I saw a lot of people with cuts and bruises and such, but I dont recall a single, solitary case of gastroenteritis during Katrina or in the whole month afterward, Lutz said.
As for Williams saying he accidentally drank floodwaters, Lutz added, I dont know anybody thats tried that to see, but my dogs drank it, and they didnt have any problems.
So my question for Dr. Brobson Lutz is, where in Hell were you when Lyin Brian was shoveling his pantload of BS? You're a "fan" so you stay quiet for 8 or 9 years while he repeatedly makes claims you know to be complete and utter fabrications? Lutz is just another liberal liar by omission. None of these damn people have a clue what morals and ethics are. Oxygen wasters, the lot of them.
what next, he fought side by side with Kerry in Vietnam?
Did he cover the IRS scandal, Grubergate or Benghazi during the early days of these news breaks? Hell no. He reported evening news BS. I don’t recall any hard hitting interviews of Obama by him.
He’s a hack that has the same “look” all the rest of them do these days.
Tom Brokaw wants him gone ... Dan Rather says Williams is an honest and decent man. Well isn’t that special?
