Rand Paul: Most vaccines should be voluntary By ADAM B. LERNER 2/2/15 2:42 PM EST Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) waded into the debate over vaccinations Monday, telling conservative talk show host Laura Ingraham that he thinks most vaccines should be voluntary. Paul, an ophthamologist and likely 2016 White House hopeful, expressed particular concern over mandatory vaccinations for sexually transmitted diseases. He criticized former Texas Gov. Rick Perry for his executive order mandating that Texas children receive the HPV vaccine. Im not anti-vaccine at all, Paul said, but I think thats a personal decision.

Rather the blame has to go to BOTH the illegals and those whose kids are not vacinated.
____________
Bull.
illegals have provided a large pool that has overwhelmed immunity, not the fault of the not vaccinated people. You would be better off protesting at the borders.
Thanks for making a whole lot of sense.
Paul is a Libtardian moron, too stupid for anybody but dopers to take seriously.
Right and quarantine smacks of communism!
Anarchy!
I agree that HPV vaccine deserves scriptiny, but *rational* scrutiny. I would rather see vaccines for the other diseases that the Bush's illegal aliens are bringing our way.
We did a lot of research because of all the panicky parents and bad press coverage. For the vaccines where the risk of a negative reaction was higher than the risk of the disease, like Hep B., we skipped it.
We used logic and the science of immunization to make our decisions. It’s silly to expect a perfect world, but you can prepare for the expected risks.
Nothing to see here...move along.
Nothing to see here...move along.
Another reason for medical/health screening for legal entrants to the country. Keep in mind that homosexual Aids activists worked hard against this.
Excellent and the way we did it as well.
I have read one interesting study of the mystery of the cause of autism, and autistic children have more older *fathers* than the general population. Now, that doesn't mean that fathering a child in later life will cause autism in the child, BUT it is certainly of better scientific indicators than vaccinations.
If you have made it to 65, you have an excellent chance of making it to age 85 now. Thanks to modern medicine.
That's what the discussion is about. Many pols and bullies from the medical community, being force-fed to us by the media, are trying to steer the population to accepting a forced vaccination "for the good of those who can't get vaccinated" or whatever.
They're laying the groundwork for forced vaccinations. Some schools have already told students who haven't been vaccinated for Measles to stay home. Some doctors have refused to see unvaccinated patients. Haven't you been watching the news? The bullying and manipulation are reprehensible.
And as far as "Rand Paul gets nothing". That's just not true. Granted, he's all over the place as he often thinks out loud (FWIW, I'm okay with that trait common in many high IQ folks) Sometimes he just gets it right when no one else does...as he did with the drones....while other pols are consulting with strategists and doing focus groups before they have an opinion.
I consider myself a libertarian (small “l”) as I cannot stomach their open borders policy and pro-homosexual stance. This is another area where their views clash with common sense.
Morgan Verkamp isn’t a journal. It’a a law firm.
Do visit their page and read the information there.
Well met, Captain.
***Far more people are killed by diseases than from the complications of vaccines.***
The best ally the Conquistadors had in the 1500s Americas was common European diseases that American Indians had no immunity to.
All those diseases are preventable with vaccinations.
The quickest and most effective way to stamp out childhood diseases would be to padlock the government schools.
If some parent wants to bring an infant on a plane or to a crowded amusement park or mall, should we have the right to forbid it? Of course not....good or bad, it's a parents choice.
You should go to Communist China, you’d fit right in.
