How long ago did he attend and were the liberals in absolute control? Wifey’s job? uh, boy. My tin hat is spinning and hopping.
NO, the prez doesnt need a degree, he needs common sense, and Scott Walker has a head full.
For Barack Obama, alleged degrees are a hinderance, a liability rather than an asset
69, almost 70. I was 8 when Truman left office, in Jan. 1953.
In previous replies my math was off by 4 years because I was thinking (in error) that Truman left office in ‘57.
That's just what former Chief Justice Rhenquist told an interviewer, except he also followed up with, "whatever that means."
IIRC, George Stephenson (the guy who invented the railroad) never went to school at all. He started working when he was five years old and had to hire a tutor to learn to read when he was about 20.
No, Lincoln didn’t have a college degree. He attended an ABC school and that for a short time. He was basically an autodidact, self-taught, but he did read law. I believe his primary schooling were The King James Bible (1611) and William Shakespeare (First Folio 1623), both, in the words of Harold Bloom the sublime summit of literature in English. I also just read that he carried a copy of Macbeth in his pocket the last few days of his life. It’s also interesting to note that H. L. Mencken, who never even attended college, wrote possibly the best English prose ever written. Or any Brit for that matter. Having a college degree is probably a part of the unwritten constitution; that is, its become customary. Personally, I think academics in general are the biggest fools around. Obama’s speeches, despite his Harvard degree (or because of it?) are not only baby talk but inspired baby talk, a hodgepodge of the most banal and trite clichés ever spoken by an American President. He and Clinton never wrote or spoke a word that rose above the level of a high school journalism student.
I would think a college degree would be a liability. Would you want a President that was “taught” at Columbia?
“Hello old friend, do you remember some referred to him as Hairy Ass Truman?”
—
I certainly do.
I grew up in a Boston neighborhood (Brighton),loaded with Irish immigrants, and they tolerated Truman but thought F.D.R. was an absolute god.
Those were the days,my FRiend. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
.
I think that should the standard. Throw out all lawyer judges.
Thank you for pointing that out. And when you go to college these days, depending on what courses you take you will probably get socialist indoctrination anyway.
Whether or not a candidate has a degree makes no difference to me when I’m choosing candidates. It’s a non-issue. Sort of like how much hair they have:)
Yep.
Check out his Wikipedia entry. Here was his law school professor Alan Dershowitz introducing him at a Zionist Organization of America dinner last November:

As for Heidi Cruz's job, check out her LinkedIn resume.
“No, they didn’t.”
I misspoke.
“Learned in the law” could possibly mean they read “Writing a Will for Dummies.”! But I think hy wrote it that way so that solicitors general (like lawyers in general) do not always need to go to law schools to be admitted to the bar. Virginia and California allow people to become lawyers by simply “reading the law” as part of an apprenticeship (this is how Abraham Lincoln became a lawyer). There have been a handful of USSC justices who became lawyers through the the “reading” method.
