If Stephen Fry met God, he'd have some pretty scathing things to say. In an interview on RTÉ One's faith-based series The Meaning of Life, set to air on TV on Sunday, host Gay Byrne posed a theoretical question to the 57-year-old British actor and comedian, who is a staunch atheist. "Suppose it's all true, and you walk up to the pearly gates, and are confronted by God," he asked, as seen in a YouTube video posted this week, which has been viewed more than 1.4 million times. "What will Stephen Fry say to him, her, or it?" "I think I'd say, 'Bone cancer in children?'" Fry replied. "'What's that about'? How dare you. How dare you create a world in which there is such misery that is not our fault. It's not right. It's utterly, utterly evil. Why should I respect a capricious, mean-minded, stupid God who creates a world that is so full of injustice and pain?' That's what I would say." "And you think you're going to get in?" the host asked. "No," Fry said. "But I wouldn't want to. I wouldn't want to get in on his terms. They're wrong."

And they say Americans are stupid!
Stupid, stupid questions and stupid answers.
Further proof that homosexuality is a mental disorder.
He recently “married” a 27-year-old.
He will be among the many who will wail in their suffering, and curse God from their position of eternal torment. God will NOT be mocked.
He won’t make it to the “pearly gates” he will go before the White Throne.
What this bozo does not realize is that since Lucifer was thrown out of heaven he is the prince of the air on earth. The evil that he speaks of is from Satan and God allows it...so he thinks it sucks here.Wait until he gets to his eternal destination.

God created a perfect world. It was man that screwed it up. Misery is your fault Mr Fry.
If I take the most lenient view of God's justice that I can imagine, I would say that even after death, a sinner may have a last chance to repent and accept Jesus as their savior. Perhaps -- just perhaps -- that would be enough for salvation. By that tremendously lenient standard, a lot of bad people might actually avoid Hell.
But Stephen Fry will not.
I believe that CS Lewis theorized that God made Hell out of mercy -- Hell is a place where God is not. If there are people who deeply, thoroughly, do not want to be in His presence, then God is loving enough to create just such a place.
So true. I have conversed with an atheist who says the same things. Atheism is merely a false front put up by the unregenerate heart.
I might care more about this if I had any idea who in the hell Stephen Fry was.
Or perhaps it will sometime be better phrased, who IN hell Stephen Fry is? lol
“If Stephen Fry met God...”
He won’t have long to wait.
Not just fruitcakes, even some believers from time to time can say awful things towards God. People get angry at God for a variety of reasons. Just pray for these people. They truly need it.
Assuming he can stay on his feet before God . . .
The comments are as stupid as this pervert.
Imagine, for the sake of argument, that God does exist and that He will judge us. Wouldn’t it be an awful thing to realize at that moment just how wrong you were?
So, the child's bone cancer is the child's own fault?
Or is that Mr. Fry's fault?
Not sure what you're saying here.
EVERY knee shall bow, and every tongue confess that Christ is Lord, to the glory of God.
It’s like the old Fram filter ads. “Pay me now, or pay me later.”
We’re depraved sinners, one and all. God has offered us FULL and FREE Salvation. All we need do is confess with our mouth, and believe in our heart.
I’ve bowed my knees, my head, my neck, my heart and my will to the Lord HERE. Therefore, by faith I have a “Season Ticket” for hereafter.
Praise Jesus!
Frankly, without Rowan Atkinson and Hugh Laurie, this oafish queen would never have been heard of.
After his conversation, God would flick him to the ground like an annoying fly.
It is good to be on the side of redemption. I don’t mind acknowledging my seed for a Saviour . . . I sure don’t qualify to do it for myself!
